and Chuck Goldy
When offered his dream job of East Coast Sales Rep for Kink BMX, Chuck had to make the difficult decision to close the doors at 74 Main st in Danielson, CT after an amazing 13 year run.
Chuck gave everything to his shop and community and has had an ever lasting impact on the Quiet Corner.
While most would mourn the closing of their local shop, Chuck wasn’t going to leave without one last party.
So on New Years Eve we got 13 years worth of friends and family together and went out with a bang.
Daily Grind forever.” – Joshua Foisey

Product: Proper Bike Co. – Tecmatik Frame

A few months ago we got a look at the new Proper Bike Co. Tecmatik frame that they have been working on over the U.K. The plan for the frame? It’s a straight forward frame without too many bells and whistles other than being durable to handle todays riding. This full 4130 chromoly frame has a 75-degree head tube angle, 71-degree seat tube angle, 11.6″ bottom bracket height, 8.9″ stand over height and 13.38″ chainstay length (13.05″ slammed). You can find laser cut top and down tube gussets, a tapered Mid bottom bracket, integrated seat post clamp, curved seat and chain stay bridges, tapered seat and chain stays, 5mm thick heat-treated 14mm drop outs. The frame has clearance for 2.40″ tires and 28-tooth sprockets.
The Tecmatik is hitting BMX shops and mail-orders that carry Proper Bike Co. worldwide now. It’s available in 20.7″ and 21″ top tube lengths, colors of raw and ED black with a weight of 4 lb. 13 oz.

Product: Odyssey – Air Supply Tube

There might not be a lot of talk in new and innovative technology revolving around a BMX Tube, but you would be surprised what a little change can do to help keep you rolling longer. Odyssey have just released their new Air Supply tube, which might look like a regular tube just looking at the photo above. What you can’t tell is that they’ve made this tube specific to 20 x 2.10″ to 20×2.45″ tires with a higher quality rubber.
What exactly does this mean? Well, a traditional tube is usually designed around smaller diameter tires, like a 20 x 1.75″ that is commonly found in stores. That means when it’s fully inflated, it’s designed for a smaller tire, not the 2.40″ tires we’re seeing more and more of, which leads to the rubber stretching. When rubber stretches, it makes it more susceptible to punctures and pinch flats because the material is made thinner all around like a balloon being over inflated until it pops. So, having a larger diameter tube means less stretch and more resistant to punctures and pinch flats. Add in a higher quality rubber, and it’s makes it even more durable, and apparently it retains air (so you have to pump it up less frequently) than other tubes as well.
The Air Supply tube from Odyssey is hitting BMX shops and mail-orders now with a retail price of $4.99.
