1664 BMX – Chris Cadot Welcome Video

December 23, 2015

1664 BMX have added Chris Cadot to their line up for 2016! Chris has been crushing it up in Canada for years now, so it’s no surprise they have picked him up! Check out this rad welcome video that’s filled with grind after grind showing you just why they think he’s a good fit for their team!

“Edited by: Brad Hill
Song: Caustic Cross by Beach Fossils
Here’s Chris Cadot’s first full edit since being add to the squad this past summer. Chris kills it on both sides of the camera, and is always out working on one project or another, helping push BMX in good ways in his scene. Chris’ positive outlook, and passion for all things BMX, added with his laid back stylish riding style made him stand out to us. Once getting to know him a bit more we decided he would fit in awesome with 1664. Enjoy.
”

“Shout out to Jordan Krupa and Lee Dennis for being the main button pushers but also to the rest of the homies you know who you are, much appreciated. Also thanks to 1664bmx for being down with me. I’m looking forward to the new year!” – Chris Cadot

“Finn Maurer – Muscle Cat Clothing – Nine Lives
After months of filming, Finn’s edit is finally finished. This isn’t a Welcome to the Team (vimeo.com/77530331) or a Welcome Back edit (vimeo.com/125349443 ). This is the edit we have been working on for some time now. After Finn recovered from his knee injury and had gotten back on his bike, it’s been nothing but progression. We are all stoked on this edit and we hope you all enjoy it! The sky is the limit for Finn!

The Most Expensive Complete BMX Bike For 2016?

December 23, 2015

wethepeople-envy-complete-bmx-bike-full

Have you ever had a random question pop up in your head right when you’re trying to go to bed, and you end up thinking about it so much that you end up pulling out your phone and doing some research online? Last night, not sure why, but the question “I wonder what the most expensive complete BMX bike is for 2016?” came to mind and it stuck to me. We had a pretty decent idea of a few of the higher end bikes, but were still curious to know. So, after a couple searches on a few different retailers and it was pretty easy to figure out just what bike holds the highest price tag for this year.
Traditionally, complete BMX bikes are thought of as inexpensive bikes that are designed for the entry to mid-level rider that isn’t quite ready to go all in on a custom after market build that pretty much every experienced rider owns. Over the course of the past few years, with the progression of the quality of complete bikes, we’ve seen some really dialed higher end bikes pop up on pretty much every company’s list of options for bikes they offer.
Although BMX bikes don’t cost anywhere near what some high end road and mountain bikes cost (You could buy about 13 of the most expensive BMX bikes for the price of one of the high end road bikes that are available — and that’s not even top of the line), it’s still a pretty interesting number.

What did we find out? Well, although it was some what close with a few other bikes (Not including race bikes, which have a few options more expensive than the freestyle bikes), the 2016 Wethepeople Envy beats out the Dennis Enarson signature Haro SD V2, Chad Kerley signature Premium CK and Sunday Bikes Gary Young signature Soundwave complete by about $100. The Envy comes in at $1,099.99 and it comes fully loaded. The next question that came to mind, if we parted out the most expensive bike since it’s mostly after market parts from Wethepeople and Eclat, what would the total cost be? Let’s find out…

We also decided to find out what the most expensive custom built bike would be. Check that out here: The Most Expensive Custom BMX Bike?

Red Bull – Three Day Metro Pass: Montreal

December 23, 2015

You know you’re in for something awesome when Red Bull releases one of their “Three Day Metro Pass” BMX videos. This time around, Corey Martinez, Chris Childs, Matt Nordstrom and Dillon Lloyd had three days to cruise the amazing spots the Montreal, Quebec, Canada has to offer! Hit play and check out some DAMN GOOD riding!

“Corey Martinez gathered a crew together and, with a Three Day Metro Pass in hand, headed to Montreal to enjoy what the city had to offer.
Sitting just a short plane ride away, and having never sessioned the city, before, Montreal was an easy choice. With an extensive metro system at our disposal, Corey, Chris Childs, Dillon Lloyd and Matt Nordstrom took to the streets to experience the French-Canadian metropolis firsthand.
The trip was bookended by sessions at the legendary Olympic Stadium. With nearly every street set-up at our disposal, and minimum security on show, the two days spent there produced banger after banger. Outside of the stadium, the crew found some tucked-away gems at schools and other buildings.

All the while, we enjoyed the different culture there too. Despite being only 40 miles from the US border, Montreal is the largest French-speaking city after Paris. We all had a good time trying to decode the menus, with varying degrees of success.

Even though we had a rain day, the trip overall was a huge success. Everyone rode like madmen, and with no injuries and smiles all around, we couldn’t have asked for much more.”
