Yesterday we posted up The Most Expensive Complete BMX Bike which came in at $1,099.99 for a price tag. That got us thinking, what would be the most expensive BMX bike you could build if you took the most expensive parts from Dan’s Comp and compiled it into one bike… Well, we had a little free time so we decided to give it a whirl and you might be surprised on this one, haha. This is the most expensive custom built BMX bike we could compile as of December 24th, 2015. Let’s get to “shopping”!
Let’s start off by saying this might not be the most expensive BMX bike ever… There’s some items that aren’t available at this time, like Eastern’s full titanium Grim Reaper frame from a few years ago that was $1,000.00 just for the frame. So, we’ll go with what’s currently available. We’ll also stick to the freestyle side of things. We know race bikes can get super spending, especially with all the carbon fiber and everything that are available for those bikes. Note: This is as of December 24th, 2015… Prices change, new products are introduced, old products are removed. Prices could vary between shop and mail-order, etc. This isn’t 100% the most expensive custom BMX bike that could be built, but it’s based off what was currently an option on Dan’s Comp.
Woof. That’s a pretty spendy bike that you’re just going to beat up! We did have to grab the hub prices off the Profile Racing website since we knew Profile offered a few options for their hubs that Dan’s Comp don’t. Otherwise, pretty much everything was pieced off their website. We also stuck to freestyle specific… There were a few race parts that could have worked, but they weren’t designed for freestyle, so we wen’t with the first option. We also opted to go with front brakes which required a fork with front brake mounts. The CCR frame would also have to have gyro tabs drilled in since it doesn’t come with any… But that’s a fairly easy modification if you know what you’re doing.
