“A true work of art. The Mercury stem is new for 2015 and is now keeping the bars in place for a lot of dudes on the team including Kilian Roth. Using cold forging rather than CNC machining, we were able to make an incredibly strong and unique looking high-rise top load stem that wont leave your wallet too empty either.
The Mercury is one sturdy unit that is designed for a higher bar position and built to last.”
The Mercury top load stem from Eclat is made from cold forged 6061-T6 alloy with a 50mm reach, 33mm rise and 33mm stack height. There’s a diagonal center bore to help reduce weight and thanks to the stem being cold forged instead of CNC machined, they are able to achieve a unique, smooth look that helps reduce a lot of material to save weight while maintaining strength. The top is recessed for a flush compression cap and the back has a unique offset that improves clamping on your fork. This stem can also be run upside down.
The Mercury stem is available in colors of black, high polished and dark blue with a weight of 11.5 oz. through all BMX shops and mail-orders that carry Eclat worldwide.
The back has a unique shape that helps improve clamping because of the offset, making it so it can wrap around the fork better while tightening.
Since the stem is cold forged versus CNC machined, you can achieve smoother lines and more round edges.
The recessed top allows for your forks compression cap to sit flush.
More clean lines.
