If you have ever had the chance to meet Bryan Bird or Mike Corley, you would know they are super funny dudes from Eastern. I cruised on over to their booth to get the latest from Eastern, Nitrous, and Gran Royale along with some things that might not be completely.. accurate. Take a peek.
Nothing too new here. The Bi-Directional cassette and such. Pretty colors.
Fun fact about these Nitrous wheelsets. They are pretty inexpensive, but Kelly Bolton has been running them since Interbike in September with no problems. Even Bryan was shocked by that one…
Some of the new bars from the Nitrous and Eastern lines. Big bars are part of everyday life…
Some Eastern and Nitrous forks…
Plastic pedals and seats…
The 8 spline cranks up top, and the new 48 spline cranks that Eastern is offering on the bottom.
Some sprockets. Nice and light!
Multiple colors for their brake cables to match your bike…
Couple new tee’s
The Nitrous frame. Super inexpensive, but comes with all the goodies like the removable mounts and such.
Another fun fact that Mike had to share. They are re-designing the Grim Reaper frame. It will still have cut outs, but the geometry and a few other things will be getting updated and changed a little in the near future…
Cobra complete. This thing retails for $279. That’s pretty wild to think about given it’s really pretty stock and basic.
The Gran Royale fixie for you fixie kids…
Some rumors from Bryan Bird:
“Eric Holley is riding fixie only now. Actually, the whole BMX team is done and riding fixies.”
“We have a new plastic gyro coming out…”
“We’re also coming out with a new Unicylce and brakeless scooter.”
Mike Corley rumors:
“We have some new plastic rims coming out. Carbon fiber hubs and plastic spokes as well”
Me – “Like, mags?”
“No, real deal plastic wheels”
Me – “Uhh..”
-Big grin
Me- “Yeah, I would have told you that was a stupid idea if you were serious.”
This was after talking about the plastic Simple stem that was a joke…
