Insight: Wethepeople – Pete Sawyer Signature Sterling Line

Today, were going to take an in-depth look at each of these items giving you all the specs and info along with a ton of close up photos so you can really see the details that make this line unique! Ready? Let’s get into this!

The Sterling Frame

Glossy Black

Let’s start out with the Sterling frame. This frame is made from Seamless 4130 Japanese chromoly tubing with a 75-degree head tube angle, 69-degree seat tube angle, 11.5″ bottom bracket height, a 9″ stand over height and a 13.4″ chain stay length. You can find a heat-treated, CNC machined integrated head tube with an extended height to reduce the number of spacers with an uncut fork, gussets on the top and down tubes with a “WTP” logo, a single-butted top tube, a double-butted down tube, a CNC machined and heat-treated MID bottom bracket, a wide rear triangle to fit 2.40″ tires, unique end caps on the seat and chain stays to match the fork (see below), CNC machined and heat-treated 6mm thick drop outs that will fit flush with most pegs with extra sink details, a low-profile integrated seat post clamp and removeable brake mounts.

Transluscent green.

Ice Blue (Translucent blue)

Titan Black

The Sterling frame is available in top tube lengths of 20.6″, 20.9″ and 21.2″ with color options of Black Titan, glossy black, Translucent blue (Ice blue) and translucent green and a weight of 5.29 lbs. (2.40 kg)


You can find gussets on the top and down tubes with the “WTP” logo. The head tube is CNC machined and heat-treated. It’s also extended to help reduce the number of spacers needed for an uncut fork.


The seat and chain stay bridges allow for plenty of tire clearance in the back. You can run a 2.40″ tire with no issues.

The Sterling frame features a slim-profile integrated seat post clamp for a clean look.

The 6mm thick dropouts on the Sterling frame are CNC machined and heat-treated for strength. You can also see the unique end caps on the seat and chain stays that match the fork that we’ll talk about below.

The Sterling frame retails for around $374.99 – $424.99 and is available through all shops and mail-orders that carry Wethepeople worldwide.





The Sterling Bars

Next up, we have Pete Sawyer’s signature Sterling bars. These bars are made from “M2″ 4130 chromoly with a full liquid post-weld heat-treatment for strength. The bars are made with 7/8″ multi-butted tubing and feature a 9.2″ rise, 29” width, 11-degrees of backsweep and 3-degrees of upsweep. You can find cut lines on the ends of the bars so you can accurately cut the width down to your preference.

The Sterling bars are available in Black Titan, glossy black, Ice Blue (translucent blue) and translucent green with a weight of 1.87 lbs. (28.55 oz. / 809 grams)

The Sterling Fork

Last, but not least, Pete Sawyer’s signature Sterling fork. This fork is made from “M2″ 4130 chromoly that is full liquid post-weld heat-treated. You can find a fully CNC machined 170mm single-butted steerer tube with an integrated headset race, laser cut and CNC machined 6mm thick heat-treated 4130 chromoly 3/8” drop outs with a 32mm offset and blade end caps to match the Sterling frame, and a 7075-T6 alloy top bolt with an M24 thread.

The 6mm thick, 32mm offset, 3/8″ drop outs are CNC machined and heat-treated for strength. The fork also has blade end caps to match the drop outs on the Sterling frame.

Fully CNC machined 170mm single-butted steerer tube with an integrated headset race.

The Sterling Fork comes in colors of Black Titan, glossy black, Ice Blue (translucent blue) and translucent green with a weight of 2.10 lbs. (33.6 oz. / 955 grams) without the top cap.

The Sterling fork is available worldwide through all shops and mail-orders that carry Wethepeople for around $172.99.
