Sebastian Keep Launches Tall Order BMX Brand

April 20, 2016

tall-order-bmx-brand-sebastian-keep

Here’s some news we didn’t see coming. Sebastian Keep has launched a new BMX brand called Tall Order that is just getting the wheels turning. Based off the press release, it looks like the brand will be geared toward transitions and ramp riding over the street riding trend we’ve seen a number of brands follow. There’s currently two frames listed on the website that will become available in November, and Sebastian has recruited Corey Bohan, Jack Clark, Oliver Jones, David Gilchrist, Matt Peter, Kaz Campbell and Kieren Riley to the team. This is just the start, so we’ll be expecting to see plenty more here soon. You can check out the full website here — TallOrderBMX.com

For some of you who are wondering, this does mean that Bas is no longer riding for Cult, which he is no longer listed on their website.

“I have spent the majority of my life travelling the world riding my bike and making friends along the way. I’ve been very lucky to have had a long career as a pro rider and here I am following my instincts and launching my own company.

We have seen riding naturally evolve with street becoming the predominant style of freestyle BMX, but for me although I enjoy riding street and using my pegs I have always had a bigger passion for riding transitions. Whether it’s indoors, outdoors, wood, dirt, cement or brick the feeling of trying to go faster, higher and land smoother has always been my thing… you like what you like I guess. For this reason tall order frames and parts will be designed and engineered specifically to be ridden at the highest level on transitions of all types and sizes.

I feel it’s important to support all elements of the bmx ecosystem so the plan is to sell tall order through a network of distributors and shops around the world as well as selling clothing and smaller items direct on my website.” – Sebastian Keep

Wethepeople’s Jordan Godwin and Pete Sawyer weren’t around for the creation of this DIY beast located under the M32 bridge in Bristol, UK but luckily it’s open for all to ride so they snagged Callum Earnshaw to come film this short but sweet video.

April 19, 2016

Well… Here’s an announcement we don’t think anyone saw coming. Albert Mercado has decided to step away from the Kink Pro team on Instagram. Below is his statement about the decision. We’re not sure if he has a new sponsor lined up or if it was just time to pursue some new opportunities outside of BMX. We are sure we’ll still see fresh Albert footage in the future regardless.

“After almost a decade of riding for @kinkbikes the time has come for us to part ways. It’s been an amazing time riding, traveling, and hanging out with people that have become some of my lifelong friends. Unforgettable memories and friendships that can’t be rattled by life’s struggles is what I’m most grateful for. Shout out to everyone at Kink that made these years of good times possible. I couldn’t have thought of a better way to spend my time on Kink. It’s been real. On that note, It’s time to move forward and see what the world has in store for me! Thanks again Kink for everything! Ph: @bakosphoto #bmx #bmxiswhatyoumakeit thanks for all the love everyone.”

Kink BMX – 2017 Complete Bikes Catalog

April 19, 2016

The Kink crew are always on the ball and it seems like always first to release their next years models of complete bikes. Today, they released their new catalog giving you a full look at their entire range of 2017 complete bikes from their 12″ Coast on up through to their Tony Hamlin, Sean Sexton and Connor Lodes signature complete bikes. You can take a look at the full range by hitting the catalog above. It looks like Kink have once again stepped things up with their full range of bikes and they look damn good.

“Each year we go into designing our bikes with one objective in mind, and that is simply to build the best BMX bikes possible. All the aspects that go into that one objective on the other hand, are not quite so simple. Designing new components, refining product features, updating geometry, gathering dealer and rider input, doing color trend research and improving manufacturing techniques, are just some of those aspects. Our 2017 line up is of course no exception, and we’ve reviewed, revised, and improved on each model to ensure it’s the best bike in its class.

Keep your eyes peeled for these wild stallions rolling into shops and mailorders this May.”
