It’s been a little while since we’ve seen a BMX video from Jordan Grandinetti, but it’s clear he has been busy slaying ever ledge and rail he could get his pegs on as of late. Check out this fresh video filled with clips of him doing just that…. Even with what appears to be a cast and then a wrist brace on! What a beast!
Travis Pastrana Announces the Nitro World Games
Just when you thought Travis Pastrana and Nitro Circus have done it all, they end up bringing a whole new idea to the party. The Nitro World Games is going to be a huge contest that will go down in one day, July 16th in Salt Lake City, Utah. Based on the press release, it sounds like it will feature BMX best trick and BMX triples as part of this concept that will also feature Moto-X, skateboarding, inline, scooters and more, but it will feature a different format than something like the X-Games. Travis has a huge focus on safety for this event, which will feature resi landings on all of the ramps, which are used on all of the Nitro Circus show ramps. There won’t be any dirt, no vert ramp, no street course… Essentially this is just going to be a three hour huck fest over some huge ramps with the goal of re-igniting the action sports industry by grabbing the attention of people that don’t ride. From our perspective, these guys are doing a good job of hyping it up, but we’ll have to see how it all goes down before we can really gauge how progressive and beneficial to the BMX and action sports industry. It would be good to see a street course, vert ramp and dirt course to really expose BMX and skateboarding, but maybe that will be part of it if things go well the first go around and they get the chance to send it again.
Either way, expect things to get crazy on July 16th in Salt Lake City, Utah and hope this is going to draw in more riders, because we can always use more riders! Get a look at the course concept design below!
“On December 7, 2015, Nitro Circus (http://www.nitrocircus.com), NBC Sports, Utah Governor Gary R. Herbert and the Utah Sports Commission announced the inaugural Nitro World Games coming to Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City, Utah on Saturday, July 16, 2016. The biggest event in the history of action sports, the Nitro World Games is a riveting three-hour experience – airing live in the U.S. on NBC during prime time – that marks a revolutionary transformation of action sports competition. Created by extreme sports icon Travis Pastrana with Nitro Circus CEO and Creative Director Michael Porra, the Nitro World Games will feature the best athletes from across the globe in action sports’ most exciting and popular disciplines, including freestyle motocross (FMX), BMX, skate, inline, scooter and more.”

Pawel Piotrowski – Calling the Shots in Leszno
Pawel Piotrowski just sent through his latest BMX video which features him and a few of his friends having some fun with a round of Calling the Shots. Although this isn’t in English, one of the best parts about BMX is you can figure out what’s going on just by checking out the clips. But, if you’re really struggling, hit that “CC” button for captions in English to help you follow along!
“Here we go. New webisode just landed. The idea for this video came really spontaneously in the occasion of friday’s evening session at Wiktoria’s DIY spot. For my luck, I had my camera packed in my car so I didn’t want to waste time and encouraged my friends to work on that “calling the shots” project. I am really happy with the result. Whole weekend of riding and filming but AS ALWAYS we had fun (at least me, haha).

One Dude One Day: Jake Ryan
The guys over at Freedom BMX hit us with a link to their latest “One Dude One Day” BMX video featuring Australia’s Jake Ryan putting in some work at two of his local skateparks. Jake cooks up some unique lines thanks to his freecoaster while mixing in barspins, big no handers, tailwhips, flairs and more! Hit play and check it all out!
“Jake Ryan has repeatedly sent us lately Instagram clips of itself, because it was obvious, even to ask if he would like, would not shoot a real video for us. He felt like it, even fairly large. And so only a short time later that fluttered “One Dude One Day” -Edit of two sessions in the concrete park from Kawana and Coolum Beach on Australia’s Gold Coast in our electronic mailbox. Nice one, mate! Video: Guy Perrett” – Freedom BMX
