How To Calculate BMX Spoke Length – Lux BMX

Want to learn how to calculate BMX spoke length?

If you’re building up some new wheels, you’re going to need new spokes to go with them. Since every hub and every rim is a little different, the length of spokes are not always exactly the same, so there are a range of spoke sizes available. Lux BMX put together this fresh video showing you how to calculate the spoke length you need whether it’s your front wheel or rear wheel. Hit play and take it all in.

We do have a BMX Spoke Calculator on our website, but unfortunately we aren’t always able to get the hub or rim specs we need to update or get you an exact measurement from brands. This video above should help you out if you can’t find your combination you need.

Breaking Into The BMX Industry with GT’s Ben Ward

During Swampfest, Brant Moore spent a ton of time running around talking to industry guys and riders. One of the guys he sat down with was GT‘s Ben Ward to talk about how he got into BMX and turning it into a career outside of being a pro rider. Ben talks about his different roles from a product designer to juggling multiple roles like team manager, brand manager, etc. He also talks about how things are going at GT and what’s in store for the brand going forward, which is interesting on its own! Ben is one guy who has done so much for BMX from the industry side of things over the years, and his insights are really helpful for anyone who might be looking to figure out how to start working in the BMX industry.
