Spotted this over on Can You Dig It and got so stoked. Shawn Shimkets did what a ton of us dream to do and that’s tear up the entire backyard to build a dialed set of trails to ride. This video gives you a look at the yard, some riding and the story of how these trails came to be. So good.

Nate Wessel Talks Woodward

Woodward caught up with Nate Wessel to talk a little bit about how he came to become the builder for them and the recent changes they’ve been making to Woodward Copper and why they’re doing it. On Monday, the Prevail Skatehouse threw a BMX jam called “Monday Mayhem”. There were a ton of riders that turned out to ride this dialed park and Matt Nicklen was there to capture all of the riding that was going down. Roy Van Kempen invited Mehdi Vivens on over to his place to film for this new Federal edit. As you can imagine, both of these guys put in some serious work for this one and ended up with a damn good video you gotta check out. Hit that play button because this is definitely one you need to see.

In today’s world having a cell phone is the norm and a huge majority of smart phones actually have a pretty decent camera on them. I can say personally that the “camera” that I carry most happens to be my iPhone. I always have it on me everywhere I go and I happen to shoot quite a bit with it. I never really do anything with any of the photos from my phone and the other day I was reminded of the saying “The best camera is the one you have on you.” To me, as a photographer that makes perfect sense. It’s one of those things where you don’t think; you just shoot. For example, if I’m out and don’t happen to have an actual camera on me, my first instinct is to grab my phone and capture the moment without focusing too much on the end result. That is what photography is all about. It’s about living in the moment, it’s about capturing what’s in front of you and it’s about taking advantage of your surroundings.
