Christian Rigal – Crossover

November 30, 2021

Although it’s all MTB, this new Christian Rigal video for Adidas has plenty of BMX influence from the setups and riding, all the way to who helped make this video possible from Darryl Tocco filming and editing to Corey Walsh, Kris Fox, Jason Wats, Matt Cordova, Scotty Scamehorn and more helping to build the setups, all the way to Kelly Bolton doing the graphics! There was no shortage of BMX influence and people involved. This is a wild one and a damn good watch, so get on that play button and take it all in!

“adidas Five Ten Presents CROSSOVER

Christian Rigal Brings Fresh Ideas and a New Perspective to Mountain Biking, Inspired by His BMX Roots.

Rigal is becoming a household name in the mountain bike community for his fast paced, all-out approach to riding. His history in BMX is undeniable with some of the most stand out video parts of a generation but his new passion for MTB is a breeding ground for creativity and a chance to look at the world with fresh perspective.

Rigal’s latest video part ‘CROSSOVER’ is his interpretation of how to ride a trail bike and what you can build when you collaborate and bring together a group of like-minded friends. To the purists, his different approach to riding might feel like a far cry from the more traditional side of mountain biking, but for Christian, it’s been a refreshing new way to push himself and see what’s possible on a big bike.

“What started as a blank canvas on a friend’s property quickly turned into a BMX inspired MTB zone. Using an old Church foundation from 1876 as our centrepiece, we went to work for 9 days on the tools and machines to make this crossover dream build a reality. Five Ten let me run wild with this and I can’t thank them enough for trusting me and my vision for this project. Opportunities like this are rare and I am stoked to have had the chance to bring some of these crazy ideas to life, and hoping it inspire others to look at things differently and do the same!” – Christian Rigal

After countless days of prep and brainstorming, Rigal worked with the Shire Built crew alongside a talented list of friends who worked tirelessly to bring their shared vision to life. Behind the lens, Christian brought BMX legend in his own right, Darryl Tocco into the project to bring a more traditional BMX/Skate perspective to the edit.

“This project would not have been possible without Matt and Lex who allowed us to use their land, along with the collective efforts of all my friends. I hope this video inspires others to get out and make the most of your surroundings! You don’t need a mountain to ride mountain bikes.” – Christian Rigal

Out and About with Murray Loubser and Jason Prins

November 30, 2021

You always know you’re going to see something good when a video pops up from the streets of South Africa. Here’s a new split edit featuring Murray Loubser and Jason Prins going to work on a bunch of spots. This video has a pretty chill and laid back vibe, but there’s a ton of hetat packed into this one, so get on that play button!

“Double trouble via Murray Loubser and Jason Prins out in South Africa. Filmed on a bunch of different missions throughout Cape Town, these two killed it both on the bike and behind the camera. Those last handful of clips are outrageous!” – DIG

Michael Hanfler In New Zealand

November 30, 2021

Oh yeah! This is what we’re talking about. Freedom BMX just dropped this new video featuring Michael Hanfler absolutely shredding trails and concrete parks down in New Zealand! If you’re looking for a fast paced video packed with speed and style for miles, this is definitely for you. The second half is more chill, but this video as a whole should get you fired up. Get on that play button.

“He shat the shovel, but he didn’t shat no deputy! Check out German Verde rider Michael Hanfler absolutely killing it over in New Zealand.

It’s been two years since Michael Hanfler left for Down Under, where the north German frequent flyer initially spent a few months in Australia before he went on to New Zealand.

There the SIBMX driver in spe * is digging new hills even more diligently than in his former adopted home of Bremen – and that really means something! The hill landscape that our trail rider of the year 2019 drives in his new “I Shat The Shovel” video is definitely monstrous. There is a lot of work involved. You will probably look in vain for anything comparable in this country. Perhaps that is also a reason why Mr. Hanfler has still not returned to our latitudes.

But Michael has not only remained true to his passion for digging, as you can see above, he also still knows how to operate his works professionally. A clear case of an impressive performance, as not only the style police click their tongues in recognition. That much is certain, if “I Shat The Shovel” had gone online earlier, the chances of being nominated for Video of the Year at the 2021 freedombmx Awards would have had a good to very good chance.

Well, so be it! As we judge Michael, something like that is probably not that important to him anyway. He’s happy to shovel new jumps in the forest at night and massage them through during the day. And if you really think about it, it really doesn’t take more to be happy. It’s a shame you can’t travel to New Zealand right now! We’d love to take lessons from the Grand Master of Lifehack!

* Michael is waiting for a SIBMX sponsorship as soon as / if he comes back. More on this in his interview, which is currently in progress and will appear here on our website shortly.

Work BMX – Sam and Davey

November 29, 2021

Work BMX dropped this new split edit featuring Dave Osgood and Sam Tedesco going to work on street spots around the New York area. This has solid riding all throughout making for a good watch! Take a peek!

“Here’s a fresh edit of two of our main men Sammy T and Davey O! These dudes are constantly throwing down but when you get them together they are unstoppable! This videos proof of that and does not disappoint. Sit down shut up and enjoy some good ol biking!” – Work BMX

“During the summer of 2021, I had the pleasure of spending a few months back home in the Syracuse area, and spent the time riding and traveling with friends. One of my favorite parts of being home is getting to chill with all the homies. Davey’s one of my favorite people to ride with, and I’m not exaggerating when I say he is down to ride 24/7. It doesn’t matter if we’re at the skatepark, revisiting old spots or finding something new to ride, you already know the session is gonna pop off. The majority of this video was filmed in the three months I was home, mainly in Syracuse as well as a few other cities around the east. Thanks for watching!” – Sam

November 28, 2021

Odyssey dropped a fresh video Bike Check with Matt Nordstrom‘s current Fit setup decked out with Odyssey parts from top to bottom! Everything on Matt’s bike is available now except for a new freecoaster hub that Odyssey is testing out.
We’re not sure what’s going on internally on the hub, but it looks like it has the external slack adjuster slot like their previous hub based on the white plug piece, but we could be wrong. Maybe it’s a top secret G-Coaster? We’ll just have to wait and see. Hit play and take a look!
