The latest BMX Videos, Products and News!

BMX bikes have come a long way over the past 20-30 years, from rattling 1 Inch Threaded Headsets and shin searing Beartrap Pedals to investment-cast Dropouts and Pivotal Seats. Along the way there have been several products which have been instrumental to the improvement of our bikes, and at the top of that list is the Profile Cassette Hub. 15 years ago the guys at Profile took a technology used on high-end road bikes and used it to create, what is still to this day one of the most reliable and functional Bicycle Hubs in existence. This week I catch up with Profile Racing‘s Matt Coplon and Corey Alley to find out more about the beginnings and background story one of the most iconic products in BMX. After you check out the interview, don’t forget to check out the PHOTOGALLERY showing you the history of Profile’s hubs!

Here’s a look at Profile Racing‘s latest print ad featuring Jared Eberwein and their Spline Drive sprocket! This can be found in the new issue of BMX Plus!.
James Newrick’s Grey Haven video is nearing completion. Here’s the second trailer that doesn’t give away a ton, but I’m pretty much set on the fact that it’s going to be awesome. You can keep up with the progress by visiting their site – GreyHaven.tumblr.com

Mutant Bikes have been developing this peg and hub guard combo for about three years now. This isn’t the first time I’ve had the chance to see this, but it’s probably your first. Basically, this peg can be run on non-drive and drive side without having to mess with your hub at all. No stretching your frame or having a wobbly hub. This even protects your drop outs better.
The peg isn’t done just yet, but nearing going into product. Here’s a few words below from Nuno about the peg. All I know is I’d like to try some out.
“I have been working on this guard conneted to the peg in about 3 years now. Design, test, redesign, test and so on… this is what makes you feel good when you have to do a brand of bikes, the challenge of develop/creating things… This is not the final product, but this hubguard is practically perfect, a few more adjustments to the final prototype and is ready. The peg in this picture is not the final one…”
Rubén “Rubio” Rodríguez is the newest addition to the Fly Bikes family. Check out this awesome welcome edit completely packed with style. That front tire slide is so wild along with pretty much everything else in this. Enjoy.

This is one event I wish I could make it to next time… That place looks insane.
“Featuring Dew Tour winner Kyle Baldock, along with BMX dirt legends Mike ‘Hucker’ Clark, TJ Ellis, Jed Mildon, Andrew Ahumada and many more, the 2012 Unit Farm Jam went down recently in the deep south of New Zealand.
Presented by Unit Clothing, the Farm Jam is located on the picturesque Frew Farm. The Frew brothers have spent years carving the amazing one-of-a-kind dirt courses out of the rolling green hillsides that surround their family home, and love to invite riders from all around the world to experience it with them.
Imagine endless rolling hills, your own digging machinery, private fishing spots, bikes and a heap of good friends to share it with!
Take a trip with Kyle, Hucker, TJ and the rest of the crew as they let loose on the secluded farm. Not just a regular contest, the Farm Jam is an experience.” – Unit Riders

Head over to the Ride BMX site to check out a Q&A with Justin Kosman about what to expect in the second round of The Hunt. It sounds like this year is going to be wayyyy gnarlier as far as prizes go. Expect good things. Oh, and while you are there get entered to win the goodies you see above.
I’m working with Justin on some stuff that you will be hearing about soon. Get stoked.
