No Bikes: Four Corners DVD

February 17, 2008

Name of DVD:
Four Corners.

Photo: Anou Souvannavong

How long has it been out for?
About seven hours.

How long did it take to film and edit?
We usually put out a video every year, last year we slacked a bit. There’s a few clips from two summers ago but most of the footage is from the last year.

Photo: Zac Heinen

Who did the filming and editing? o
I was in charge of the project; since we’re fairly spread out, a few people helped out with footage. Ty Scott, Travis Burroughs and Ryan Hiebert handled filming in BC, Matt Lindsay filmed himself in Taiwan, Ryan Harley did some work in Fairbanks and Zac Heinen and Brian Prince helped me film around Anchorage. I handled most of the editing in the main feature, Matt and Brian each edited their sections.

What kind of equiptment did you use to film and edit?
I film with a Panasonic DVX100 and edit on Adobe premiere.

Photo: Zac Heinen

Who all has parts?
There are full sections from Matt Desson, David Clay, Matt Lindsay and myself. There are a few split sections with guys who ride together as well, I like to include as many as my friends as I can, it’s a long list.

What are some of the highlights you can tell us about?
Travis Sexsmith’s tables, they’re incredible. Matt Desson has an awesome part, the guy’s seriously a machine. Desson learns tricks really fast, he just loves bmx, you can see it in his riding. My friend David has the last part, he was one of those kids doing 720s and flip barspins at 16 (but in Alaska with a six month riding season). David broke his back at the trails last fall but come spring he was back on his bike and came through with a great section. In addition to the riding, there are a bunch of awesome spots that nobody’s ever seen. Alaska’s pretty amazing, good spots and the sun doesn’t go down until one in the morning in June.

Is there any bonus parts?
My friend Zac did an alternate edit with all of the Alaskan footage, it’s about twenty minutes long. There are a few more things, a couple web edits, slideshow, an old skate section with my friend Dave hidden in there.

Where all was it filmed?
Alaska, British Columbia, Taiwan and four clips from my vacation in Florida.

Where can people pick it up?
www.nobikes.com or from Desson if you run into him.

How much?
Ten bucks, that includes shipping in Canada and the US.

Photo: Zac Heinen

Where can people find out more about the DVD and No bikes crew?
nobikes.com, I update it once or twice a week if I can.

Odyssey Premier!!!

February 15, 2008

Well as you may have guessed it the Odyssey Electronical premier was amazing…The house was packed, all the pros were in and Give D! was in full effect reppin’ hard and heavy…

Jim Bauer decided to have some of Give D! run security for the event and I happened to be head of security for the night. Jim even had some custom shirts made up with Odyssey Electronical font in the front and SECURI-D in the back… I was more than happy along with others from D crew to promote positivity and uphold the peace for all of those who attended. The securi-D! for the night consisted of Kyle, Matt Kimbrough, my edge buddy Steve and myself, our duties were to check ID, beat on any possible negative people and ensure everyone in the joint was partying. I drank unlimited amounts of Redbull and Fiji water all while feasting on delicious pizza… The video was really good and our local S.D. Hero Gary held it down with the first part, Taj also had a really creative section and of course Aitken and Aaron Ross both had sections that made the crowd clap and roar with respect. Everyone be sure to pick up the new Odyssey Electronical dvd when it comes out!!! You will shit yourself!! D! to all my Odyssey homies…

Be sure to check out all the photos up on the Ride site and be sure to check out Defgrip for even more photos, courtesy of my boy Nuno!

Also, be sure to check out the Give D! edits that were previously online on Defgrip as well, the Metal D edit was online in Youtube format which is shit and the Take It Easy edit was on the Ride site with a chopped up ending. So go to Defgrip and check out those edits in quicktime format immediately!

Heres a taste of some photos with the D crew from the Electronical premier…

New LNKF edit!

February 13, 2008

As always Grant comes through with a sweet edit of the LNKF crew! If you didn’t see their new shirts you can see those down a few posts from this one!You know you love seeing videos of this crew of dudes who ride BMX better than you…

Oh and whoever it was that wanted that Nathan Williams interview, I think it might of been a few people, I got that going.. but it might be a few days since he’s in Austrailia and doesn’t really have any internet… I don’t think?

DMC Old School

February 11, 2008

If I got paid a dollar for every Youtube video I have watched, I could afford to build a custom bike with the Eastern Ti Grim Reaper. Maybe.
I saw this old school video of DMC on BikeGuide.org

I really wanna see more riding like this now days.

Brandon Dosch

February 11, 2008

Albes team rider Brandon Dosch has another video of him riding Hidden Valley Trails with Mike “Hucker” Clark. It is pretty awesome

Also remember to check out the deal of the day on the Albes site, today it is the Fly Sergio Bars for like $30..

Also more Dustin Griess stuff!
Dustin has this little mini camera, but basically he strapped it to his peg and belt buckle and filmed stuff. I think you can see me for .5 seconds at the very end sitting haha. But yeah its a crazy perspective.

Heres what it said in the description on Dustin’s Youtube
“At work we sell these little GoPro video cameras, so I decided to take our sample to the skatepark and have a good time with it… You can throw a 2GB SD card in it and record about an hour of audio/video. I was actually quite impressed with the quality, although some tricks get to be quite confusing. I mounted the camera on my belt buckle and on my rear peg. The footjam tailwhips look sweet!”

Dustin + AJ demo

February 11, 2008

Dustin Griess and AJ Haines did a demo out in Tacoma, Washington. AJ usually does demos with Chaos On Wheels and they asked Dustin to come ride with them for this demo. This is what Dustin has to say about it.

“Jeremiah from Chaos on Wheels asked AJ and I to do a stunt show in November of 2007 at a Franklin Graham event just outside of Seattle, WA in Tacoma. I was super excited to do this, I have never been out that direction and I love doing shows and riding bikes with AJ. We flew out together and I was just amazed at the scenery out there. It was beautiful everywhere we went.
We did 2 twenty minute shows, inside of the Tacoma Dome with a crowd of about 9,000 people. This is the most people I’ve ever ridden in front of, and AJ and I put on some damn good shows. At one point I was asked to give out a BMX bike to anyone in the audience, so I rode the bike on top of the ramp and let AJ 360 over me. I then rode the bike around the stadium while the crowd cheered for me to give them the bike… I remembered a kid earlier in the day that asked for my autograph and was super excited about being there so I rode over in his direction and picked him out of the crowd. He was ecstatic, the kid went nuts. He ran down and hopped on the bike and seriously took off and rode around in front over everyone, wobbling all over and trying a surfer type move where he stands on the frame of the bike. This was not planned, and he looked like he was about to crash, lol so we called him back over and got him to settle down.
Anyways, the shows went well, but AJ and I also took a day trip out to downtown Seattle and took some photos. It was incredible out there… My good friend Alex Mehl who I used to work with at QBP (then moved to Portland to work for a vendor of ours), came out to visit and film all this video! Thanks Alex! It was a great quick weekend, and I hope to someday make it back out that way.”

I got this from InterBMX.com
