I know it was posted up on The Come Up the other day, but Andrew asked me to post it up so I am going to. So watch it, then check out his interview we did if you missed it!
My friend Alex has had some pictures from baco sitting around for a while.. I think they are halarious because in the two of Zach Gerber I am just being a douche..
and I believe that last one is of Brandon D from Albes taking it for Baco…
Alex takes good pictures.
Our very own contributor (well, he hasn’t had time to post anything yet, but I am sure he will have time now…) Steve Kennedy is having surgery today, he talks about his injury and how it happend in the interview.
“Leaving in 30 minutes. I just took a black permanent marker and put a big “X” on the knee I’m supposed to get surgery on and a big “NO” on the wrong knee ha ha. Wish me luck.”
So once hes done with that I am sure he can post some stuff up and other goods.
So get well Steve!
So I got a random instant message like a week or two ago from Bryan Bartoli, if the name sounds firmilliar to some of you Chicago riders, its because thats where hes from. Being in the Midwest and North in the Winter is ROUGH… As I write this it is 1 degree outside, and a fair amount of snow on the ground. So Bryan was talking to me about a little trip he has planned and it sounded interesting. I asked if he planned on documenting it in any way and he said he was bringing his camera to take pictures.
“Kurt, the weather is shit in the Midwest I can’t deal with it to much longer I’m going to California. The idea started with a decision not to go to Colorado on ski trip, but I still wanted to go somewhere to have fun for a week with warmer weather. California was the answer; I have a place to stay, the weather is decent mid to high 60’s and plenty of spots to ride. I’m headed to Camarillo, CA to stay with a friend of mine that moved out there 3 years ago, This trip is taking my girlfriend and I to new places we have never been before. Plans include the Santa Anna Banks, L.A. street, Baldy Pipe, and possibly Woodward West. I’m in Cali for a week December 16-23 and that’s a lot to do in a week so some interesting times should be had. The hardest part of this trip is now; trying to cram for finals at school, get packed to go, do last minute Christmas shopping. However I got lucky and don’t have to bring bikes to the airport I had those shipped out there for $2.50 a bike, I’m glad my dad works for a shipping company. So I can’t wait to set foot on the plane. I thank you for the opportunity to do this write up and look for updated daily.”
– Bryan Bartoli
So starting December 16th or so, there should be posts of pictures, and other events from the trip, along with other things like what to bring on trips like this and everything that goes with that. It should be interesting so check it out!
Also if you are in the area for any of those and would like to maybe meet up with Bryan just shoot me an e-mail [email protected] it would be cool to get some people to show him spots and stuff too.
What is the name of the new Deadline DVD?
There is no name for it as of now, i feel like we should wait until its done until we name it. Otherwise it would feel premature.
Where is the video being filmed filmed?
A portion of the filming is done, but we are definetly still in progress. You can expect to see clips from coast to coast, but a lot of it will be done in Jersey and Philly. We have a lot of spots people will want to see that they dont know about.
How long have you guys been filming for?
We have been officially filming for about 4 months, even the most recent web stuff we put out is kind of old. The editing is still in the works, but the winter is kinda slowing everyone down, and a lot of the people in the video have other sponsors they need to attend too. Things will pick up after the holidays.
What kind of gear are you filming and editing with?
We film with a Canon GL2, and a Sony VX 2100 for the most part, as far as quality, nothing less than that. We shoot with the usual lenses and lighting of the industry. The is all being cut on a Powermac G5 with the Final Cut Pro editing suit.
When do you expect it to be released?
There is no release date as of now, but when there is we will put it out there for everyone to know.
Will there be any premiers or anything for it?
No premiers schedueled, but it should be pretty epic when it goes down, it will definetly be followed by a hard night of drinking and smoking… not cigs. We usually have a jam every year called “Death Jam” in Garrett’s backyard followed by a party, so it would probably go down in that fashion with a premiere thrown in the mix. If you asked anyone who has ever made it down, its always pretty wild. Oh, and the booz will be free, for everyone.
Where will people be able to get it when it comes out?
It will be for sale at Staff BMX Mailorder in Lakewood NJ along with a lot of other retailers. They will also be available on our new site, it will be up in mid January.
How much do you expect it to cost?
It should not be expensive, but that does not mean it is a low budget film, we just want our stuff to get out there, you know?
Anything else about the video you can tell us about it?
It will be a bmx film with a real undertone. It does not matter what clothes you wear, how many pegs you ride, what size your sprocket is, or even the music you listen to. The underlining truth is that we all love to ride. Fuck all the “he said she said” nonsense and go find a new spot, and tell everyone about it.
