DIG X WTP Giveaway

March 11, 2011

We’re doing a giveaway over on the DIG site with Wethepeople. Basically, all you have to do is become a fan of DIG on FACEBOOK and we’re going to pick a winner. I say “we’re” because the bars and forks were sent to me for my contest a few weeks back, but showed up late. We figured it would be a rad idea to give them out to a lucky fan! I’ll be shipping them out to whoever wins them personally so get psyched.

Also, while you are at it… maybe you could like The Union on Facebook by hitting that link or just clicking like up top on the right!

Quicky: Chad DeGroot

March 11, 2011

Quicky is a new feature I’m going to try and start firing out here on the regular. It’s basically an interview, but straight to the point of “what are you up to” with no real extra non-bmx related questions that I’ll mix in with the regular interviews. I figured I’d start these off with the one and only Chad DeGroot. Anyone who knows Chad knows that he’s a definitely a little kooky, but awesome. He gets himself into some ridiculous situations and has some of the best stories ever. Chad also always has something going on. I figured it would be a good time to check in with him and see what’s new and try and light a fire under his ass to get another Baco contest going. Check out what he had to say…

Name: Chad Superman DeGroot

Devon Smillie and Friends

March 11, 2011

Devon Smillie tossed together some new and old footage of him and his friends for this new edit. As always, Devon kills it.

Product: S&M Custom Bars

March 11, 2011

It’s not that S&M is inventing the “custom bars” thing, Solid has been doing it for years. However, now S&M gives you the option to take any of their bars like the classic Slam Bars, Hoders, Perfect 10’s, Beringer’s, etc. and customize the backsweep, up sweep, cross bar size and color to your preference. This is nice since a lot of bars are very similar since that’s what a good number of people ride (supply and demand), but not always what you are looking for. Head over to the new Custom Bar section of the S&M site and figure out what works for you. I’m curious to see if FBM starts doing something like this, as well.

Tom Dugan: Full of Hot Air

March 11, 2011

Tom Dugan gives you some tips on how to BLAST a quarter pipe for Etnies. The things he talks about are real valid and makes a lot of sense. It’s 5 minutes long, but some how watching him blast over and over again is entertaining enough to keep you watching.

I’m still going with natural talent that gets him that high.

The Tug Life

March 11, 2011

Raul Ruiz, Daniel “Lil D” Martinez and Luis Caballero get a session in at a skate plaza. There’s seriously something about a real high quality black and white edit that looks sooo damn good. Add in the real good riding and it’s Charlie Sheen Winning status. I have a feeling Tommy Blanco has a bunch of new edits coming through with his site TugLife.net, so I’m looking forward to that. Even though I think of something way different when thinking of “Tug Life”.

Anthony Watkinson @ Rampworx

Anthony Watkinson @ Rampworx Edit – More BMX Videos

Chris Wilmshurst (who I also have an interview in my inbox waiting to get posted) met up with Anthony Watkinson at Rampworx for a session. Not only does Anthony absolutely shred the place, that park looks to have a never ending amount of fun in it. That last clip is ridiculous.

Red Bull Bargespin

March 11, 2011

Chad DeGroot put together a bunch of his photos and a few video clips from the Red Bull Barge Spin that went off a few weeks back down in Florida. From what I’ve heard, it was a real good time and a pretty crazy experience.

In other Chad DeGroot news, I’ve got a Quicky with his name on it in the inbox. It will be up shortly.
