It’s good to see some new products popping up lately after a bit of a dry spell it seemed like. Merritt have released the brand new Brandon Begin signature Phantom Tire for the riders out there looking for some bigger tires. The Phantom tire comes in a huge 2.5″ tize with a unique tread pattern that mixes smooth and micro-knob tread patterns and a harder sidewall for grinds. It’s always a good day when there’s new Mark Mulville footage to check out! Here’s a fresh one featuring Mark going to work on trails, skateparks, street spots and more down in Florida for Profile Racing. Despite COVID putting a huge damper on this summer and any plans of travel, Mark made the most of it and kept his distance to make this gem packed with style and a good mix of tricks. “This was a challenging one to get done and I wish we were able to capture more, but Covid-19 has made a lot of things much more difficult.
That being said, I am still stoked on the outcome of this little project. It was an absolute treat working with my pal, Zach Ozment over the past few months. Zach did an awesome job at putting this together and guiding me along the way. The plan was to have this done much sooner, but as I already mentioned…Covid!

The full “Out of Line” video from Wethepeople is dropping August 22nd online for everyone’s viewing pleasure. They have 4 different premieres for Youtube coming so that everyone can enjoy it at a reasonable time. The video will feature riding from Felix Prangenberg, Dillon Lloyd, Dan Kruk, Jordan Godwin and more of the squad. This one has been in the works for two years and somehow they managed to keep the VX running. After the premieres, the video will be available on DVD and a digital download so you can enjoy it again and again!
“OUR FIRST EVER FULL-LENGTH VIDEO (ETC) WAS FILMED USING THE ICONIC SONY VX1000 WAY BACK IN 2004. FAST-FORWARD TO 2018 AND WE DECIDED TO START A NEW PROJECT USING THE TRUSTY VX ONCE MORE.
AT THE TIME WE FELT LIKE WE WERE TAKING ON A HUGE TASK – BUT HERE WE ARE THOUGH, TWO YEARS LATER AND IT WASN’T EVEN THAT BAD. WE USED AROUND 100 TAPES IN TOTAL, CLOCKED THOUSANDS OF MILES IN THE VAN AND MANAGED TO FLY AROUND THE WORLD A FEW TIMES JUST BEFORE THE WORLD ITSELF LOCKED DOWN WITH A GLOBAL PANDEMIC. IT WASN’T THE ENDING WE ASKED FOR, BUT AS DEADLINES GO IT WAS PRETTY ABRUPT.

Dustin recently received a request for a video on how to smith grind on a BMX bike, so he went to his go to spot to put together this tutorial with a ton of great tips, advice and examples on how to get the trick done. Hit play, take it all in, then grab your bike and try to figure this one out! It’ll take a little practice, but once you have it figured out you’ll be able to fire this trick out on all sorts of setups!
