The sections from the Weird & Revered “Vagabond Squad” DVD are starting to flow online! Here’s a look at Jesse Baraniuk‘s section that’s loaded with a bunch of great riding. Creative and unique lines mixing brakes, pegs and a freecoaster from start to finish. It’s definitely good to see more riders running brakes lately, making for amix of tricks we don’t see a ton. Hit play andd take it all in.
““Vagabond Squad” is a full-length video from Canada’s Weird & Revered crew. Filmed from 2016 to 2019, the project is community rooted with a strong focus on the Edmonton BMX scene. Although a majority of the clips are from the crew’s home city, the footage spans 9 countries, 8 American states, and 4 Canadian provinces and territories.

“You’ve probably heard this quote at some point: ‘Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.’ Jesse may cringe at the fact that I’m using this quote to describe him, but it partly sums up his lifestyle. The important distinction with Jesse is that he’s self-taught through and through. Jesse—or “Beans” as some may call him—is independent to his core and hates being told what to do. That’s probably part of the reason why he’s been living in a camper van, working only as needed, and posting up around Canada. Jesse likes to figure things out himself and take care of himself. It’s this attitude that is probably why Jesse progressed the most of anyone in the crew during the filming of the DVD. It wasn’t his friends giving him advice on new tricks that significantly improved his riding; it was his personal drive to experiment and master his craft. For Jesse, that craft involves a freecoaster, four pegs, and a brake. Give a man a freecoaster, and he will learn to ride backwards. Give a man four pegs, and he will learn to grind on all sides. Give Jesse a brake and clear pads, and he will verbally assault his friends. ‘Screech, screech.’ I guess what I’m trying to say is I admire Jesse’s nomad spirit; that spirit shines through in his riding and this DVD part.” – Justin Schwanke

It looks like Emerson Morgan has been making the most of the isolation rules that have been put in place. Here’s a look at a video he whipped up from the sessions on some backyard ramps he’s been putting together. Hit play to check out what he cooked up, along with some real solid riding clips. Stoked to see more riders throwing the brakes back on as of late!
“So for a little while now I have been doing a bit of part-time work for one of the homies Taz and during this whole lockdown situation here in the UK we thought why not build a ramp to ride when we have a spare minute. Next thing you know one ramp turned into two, then three, then pretty much a whole park setup with moving rails and sub boxes that we could just drill into any position we chose. Whilst we were doing all this I thought why not shoot a little isolation video. So here it is. Enjoy!” – Emerson Morgan
We’re not sure why Mateus Beckmann loses so much footage, but we’re just glad he keeps finding it! Here’s his latest edit loaded with dialed clips from the sessions he has been getting in. Mateus mixes flatland with his street and park sessions, making for a ton of wild combos and lines that are so good. Hit play and take it all in!

Last summer during the X Games qualifier, Colton Walker and Justin Dowell played a Game of BIKE. We’re not sure why the footage took so long to surface, but it’s online now for you to check out. Hit play to see what both of these guys threw down and who took the win. It’s safe to say these guys had a good time with this.
“Once upon a time…in Boise, Idaho…we filmed a Game of Bike between Monster Army alum Colton Walker and Army General Justin Dowell. For some reason, they decided to film it in the street section of the park. Colton even put pegs on for the special event. Tune in to the full video for a laugh!” – Monster Army
When it comes to having a dream backyard setup, it’s safe to say everyone has a little bit different idea of just what that would be. Chris Field decided to take his already dialed mini ramp with a spine and make it even bigger and better. Here’s a look at a ton of footage filmed during the build process and the sessions that have been going down on the ramp. 50 minutes of pure BMX goodness. This ramp looks like a TON of fun to ride!
