Brian Tunney – February 2020 Clips

March 4, 2020

Here’s one we didn’t expect to see this month, but it looks like Brian Tunney is in the good habit of making an edit every month from his flatland sessions! Here’s a raw cut of footage from some of his riding he got in last month! Just missing a proper music selection like he has done in his past videos!

“Again, I had no intention of keeping this monthly series going. But then I rode a few times and re-discovered my affinity for the “magic hand.” For those not in the know, it’s basically a whiplash to dave duster in which you cross your hand under and grab the seat. It’s not far off from an opposite elbow glide but your grab the seat instead of pinching it under your elbow.
Years and years ago, I first saw Mongoose pro Chris Lashua do it and had to learn it immediately. As far as the first trend of rolling tricks went, it flew under the radar and then went dormant once two-footed hitchhiker tricks swallowed up the world. (I’m sure some people were still doing it but I never really saw too much of it after the birth of the hitchhiker. Don’t get mad if you were one of those people…)
Anyway, I always liked it and return to it every few years to say hi, see what’s new and feel it out. On this particular bike, it’s pretty easy to swing into and glide effortlessly. That could be weight, the new tire, the 48-spoke wheel, who knows. It just feels good so I’m not going to argue with that too much.
Bonus info: I had the cover of Props issue 18 doing a magic hand with mailing tape on my handlebars to hold down an out-of-control Gyro cable

“We got kicked out of every spot but the boys still killed it. Featuring Brandon Begin, Cam Girvin, Anthony Catlow and more.” – Merritt

It’s always rad to see footage from a jam that turned out awesome. Here’s a look at what went down during the Made In Australia BMX Jam that went down in Northcote recently. A ton of riders turned out, a few extra ramps were built up and they had nothing but sunshine all day. Hit play to check out what went down in the bowl during the sesion. This is what a good time looks like!

“Adam Hough organised this jam as a friendly reminder to our BMX community to support our local manufacturers, brands, media outlets and bike shops.

Fracture BMX – Adrian Kölz In Porto

March 3, 2020

Freedom BMX coming through with a fresh BMX video featuring Adrian Kölz going to work on street spots during a trip to Portugal for Fracture BMX. Adrian brings a jibby style of riding and cooked up a ton of solid clips on a whole bunch of spots. Even a broken chain didn’t slow him down! Take a look!

“A high-spirited Adrian Kölz bumps, chinks and grinds his way through Porto in this new edit for Fracture BMX.

Felix Prangenberg was recently in Porto to film for the various video projects he is currently working on. He had, among other things, Adrian Kölz in tow, who had mainly come as a filmmaker, but found himself several times in front of the camera. Because Porto is not exactly poor in good curb spots and pole jams, so there were many shred opportunities for Adi. Add one or two Super Bocks too much and this good mood edit for Fracture is ready. Yeww!
