Throughout his professional BMX career, Matt Beringer denied and hid his sexuality. It took a series of personal struggles—including contemplating suicide—for him to come out as gay. This film is a story of self-acceptance and offers a welcoming hand to those who feel excluded in the BMX community.

Brian Tunney – Winter 2026
The quarterly edits from Brian Tunney continue to flow! Here’s a look at what he got into this past winter during his garage flatland sessions. Even though it doesn’t get that cold in Austin, Texas (I see you shorts and t-shirt clips), the flatland sessions continued as always and Brian delivered with the good stuff. Hit play to check out what he put together!
“On Nov. 17 of 2025, I went to see Cap N’ Jazz at Mohawk in Austin and left early cause my foot was hurting. I assumed it was plantar fascitis (I was running 3-4 miles a day most of last year) and decided I’d take it easy for the rest of the year. I stopped running. I limited my riding. My foot kept aching though.
Early in January, I finally went to get it looked at and discovered that it wasn’t plantar fascitis at all: it was a stress fracture in my right heel bone. It’s now April 4 and it’s still kinda sore. I say all this because the past few months of riding haven’t been easy. I can’t do more than an hour at a time without limping the rest of the day and the muscles around the bone were largely frozen to protect the bone from moving. I eventually got those muscles dry needled to relax them. And as Converge once said, “You don’t know what my pain feels like…”
Basically, I shouldn’t have ridden at all. But I’m old and dumb and own a great variety of heel and arch supports now. So we’ll see how the rest of the year goes. I broke this into a few sections.
0:00 – 01:04 Tailwhip to undertakers
01:05 – 03:05 Some sort of g-turn to backwards hitch
03:05 – 06:05 Juggler combos
06:06 – 06:40 Random
So far, those old Grosso mid Vans are the best shoes for anyone with a stress fracture in your heel, in case you were wondering.” – Brian Tunney
