I was introduced to Troy McMurray in 1996 on the cover of RideBMX. For years, I watched as he progressed in the BMX spotlight with raw and unorthodox style. Troy could ride everything and ride it like no one else. Using a short and stout frame to win huge street comps and throw the biggest 180 barspins the dirt circuit had ever seen. Lighting the match on the breakless revolution and transforming modern day street riding as we know it. Troy is a pioneer of FREESTYLE.
Troy has had some bad luck as of late. He has been diagnosed with multiple pulmonary embolisms and has had recurring blood clots throughout his body. He has had two very scary trips to the hospital. He will need further medical assistance into the future. Troy is not one to ask for help, but with his second daughter on the way, his family could really use a boost. He has been an inspiration to many of us in the BMX world and any kind of donation would be greatly appreciated by Troy and his family.
