Here’s some good news. Mongoose just announced that they will have a limited edition run of Kevin Peraza signature frames called “La Familia” available soon. These frames are being made by the one and only Standard Bykes out of True Temper OX Platinum chromoly tubing with a 75-degree head tube angle, 71-degree seat tube angle, 8.5″ standover height, 11.65″ bottom bracket height and a 13.5″ chain stay length. They kept things pretty clean and simple with an integrated seat post clamp, laser cut drop outs and seat stay removable brake mounts. No word on exact release date, but it will be going for $379! Madison, Wis. – October 7, 2015 – Mongoose Bikes, a brand of Dorel Industries, Inc. (TSX: DII.B, DII.A), announced today the launch of Kevin Peraza’s signature frame, “La Familia.” Designed by Peraza and hand built in Davenport, Iowa, only 25 production models will be available for purchase throughout the United States and South Africa.

“Mongoose consumers have been asking for an American-made BMX frame set,” said Steve Wilcox, Marketing Manager, Mongoose. “We’re excited to offer exactly that and share this exclusive piece with our fans as well as provide them with a broader product offering on Mongoose.com.”

BMX Pro and Mongoose Athlete is amped on his new frame. “Growing up, I was just a kid that loved to ride. I always dreamed about one day having my own frame and riding with my favorite athletes,” he said.

“Thanks to Mongoose, I’m honored to say that I now have my own American-made frame,” Peraza added. “Since the frame is made to my standards, kids will have a chance to experience how I like to ride.”

The La Familia features lightweight True Temper OX Platinum tubing. The frame also has laser cut dropouts for additional weight savings as well as a durable powder coat finish.

Additional frame specs include a 75 degree headtube angle, a 20.5 inch toptube length, a 13.5 inch chainstay length, and a 1.65 inch bottom bracket rise. The La Familia also has a standover height of 8.5 inches and weighs just over four pounds.

The La Familia frame will be available to consumers in the United States via Mongoose.com and will retail for $379 USD.
