Product: Tree Bicycle Co. – OG Sprocket and Guard

There’s no denying that we’re always big fans of what Tree Bicycle Co. produce because of their quality, attention to detail and design process. During Interbike, we caught up with Sam Schulte and got a look at their OG Sprocket and Guard combo and we’re really digging the look of it, so we figured it would be a good idea to take a closer look and really go through the details on this one. So, let’s get into it!

Let’s start out with the OG sprocket. This sprocket is CNC machined from 1/4″ thick 7075-T6 aluminum with five triangles and 5 crank arm bolt holes to allow you to rotate the sprocket for even wear and plenty of strength despite having a lot of material removed. The teeth of the sprocket are 1/8″ wide, shaped to match teeth on industry machinery and are taller to help ensure the chain is staying in place properly and you have a smooth drive line. The bolt drive holes are narrower making it so the bolts fit very tight making it so they have no room to wiggle and come loose. They also use a 22mm hole with a steel adaptor for 19mm spindles.

The OG sprocket is available in sizes of 25 tooth, 28 tooth and 30 tooth with colors of black, blue, red, gold and silver and a weight of 2.7 oz. (25t).

The guard, which is designed to work exclusively with Tree’s OG sprocket only is CNC machined from 1/4″ thick 7075-T6 aluminum with radiuses edges to help with grinding and two 10mm bolts with a 6mm hex key hole to holt the guard tightly in place on the sprocket. The bolts run from the back of the sprocket to the front giving it a clean look at almost looks like it’s being held tight by rivets.

The OG sprocket guard comes in three sizes; 25 tooth, 28 tooth and 30 tooth to match the sprocket, with black for the color and weights of 2.3 oz. (25t), 2.5 oz. (28t) and 2.6 oz. (30t).

Overall, the OG Sprocket and Guard look real clean and we’re digging the aesthetic touches and overall design. This combo is available through BMX shops and mail-orders that carry Tree Bicycle Co. worldwide now.
