X-Games Set To Return To 2 Events A Year

After a huge expansion in 2013, adding locations like Brazil, Spain and Germany to their locations, X-Games have announced that they will be scaling back in 2014 and returning to their 2 stop format; one in Austin, Texas for the summer and the other in Aspen, Colorado for the winter. This is some what surprising news, but based on the economics and logistics of making the global X-Games work, it’s not shocking. You can read all about why they have made the decision to scale back Right Here. Maybe they should have brought dirt back sooner and this wouldn’t have happened…

It seems like everyday I am exposed to a new rider in some far away country that absolutely kills it on a bike. It’s crazy to think how BMX has grown to pretty much everywhere in the world. Vasya Lukyanenko is one of those riders from a city in the Ukraine that I can’t even pronounce. However, because of BMX, I get stoked whenever I see his name turn up in a new video. It’s also rad because we’re able to get to know more about him because of BMX. We’re about to take a closer look at his Tempered setup along with a bunch of extra questions. Insight: Profile Racing’s Push For U.S Job Creation

It’s weird to think how as you get a little older, boring things like politics and economics start becoming interesting. I’ve recently been hearing more and more things that lead me to believe that production in the U.S is coming back. Now, that might not matter to most of you who don’t have your license, a job or pay for your own parts, but it’s a good sign that someday, you might not have to worry about what you are going to do for a job and that you won’t have to hear depressing news on TV everyday about how “they” took our jobs. After reading why Sunday chooses production in Taiwan on ESPN as a response to another article on ESPN about the cost difference between U.S and Taiwan made frames, Matt Coplon and I began discussing the perks to Profile and Madera being made in the U.S versus Taiwan, and how because of this, they are creating around 25 jobs for people between the in-house employees, freelance and outsourced help. On the Horizon: Tree Bicycle Co.

A few weeks back, there was a bit of a stir about Tree‘s decision to move production over to Taiwan after a post on Prollyisnotprobably.com. Like most rumors in BMX, there are the people who have no idea what’s going on that skew things from their assumptions to an extent that leads more people to make assumptions that are even further from the actual situation.
