Check out some flatland goodness from Colony‘s Simon O’Brien courtesy of ESPN BMX! This one is a flash back for sure.

Australia’s Simon O’Brien could be considered one of the best flatland riders in the world. Though he doesn’t get out to compete as much as he once did, O’Brien’s riding in video over the past decade is astonishingly innovative, difficult and stylish. He’s never been one to fall in with the current flatland trends. Instead, he’s pioneered some of most difficult techniques (backwards rolling halfpacker barflips) and kept a level head on his shoulders while also becoming remarkably good at skatepark riding. In the above video, O’Brien, now 33, discusses his progression through flatland, his recent trip to Japan and where he’s at right now with his flatland riding. Video by Stewart Munro.
