It has been a while since we’ve seen a BMX video from Jake Ortiz and 2Hip, but that’s okay because Jake has been crushing it like usual! Here’s his latest from a few skatepark and street missions out in California! As always, Jake puts his deep bag of tricks to good use. Check out what went down!

We’re not quite sure what it is about crash clips, but they always suck you in. This clip of Jake Ortiz clipping on a big wall ride to gap over a rail ended up in our feed this morning and we ended up watching it a few times. We then realized there were nearly 8,000 views on the video in the last day, so apparently people are still mesmerized by crashes. Let’s just feed the beast and post this up, right? The only downside to watching this is all we can think about is how much we would have loved to see Jake rocking a helmet in this situation. Luckily he walked away with a little scuff on the arm and that’s it.

When an idea hits sometimes you just have to run with it. That’s exactly what happened when I was on a recent trip up to Santa Cruz, CA. I knew that Ron Wilkerson lives up that way and even though I was only there on a quick trip I had to make some moves and try my best to track him down for an interview. Ron is a straight up legend, he started and owns his own bike company, has incredibly deep roots in BMX. If you don’t have some serious respect for the guy, you might as well just forfeit your title as a BMX’er right now and stop reading this feature. Since the early days on his path in BMX Ron has always had an incredible passion for riding and his mindset is truly focused on bettering the industry. He grew up as one of the top pros in the industry, still rides and has crazy sessions to this day, and he continually works on developing innovative products. To say the dude is a lifer would be a serious understatement. I met up with him one morning for some good conversation and a fresh Acai bowl at Samba Rock Acai Café, which is an amazing place that Ron and his wife own right in Santa Cruz. This one took some work to make come to life so needless to say I’m proud to present the first edition of “Industry Talk” so sit back and enjoy.
For the month of January, 2Hip‘s Jake Ortiz spent his time at the Sanctuary in Oakhurst, California. While he was there he went out and found a ton of damn good street spot and parks to ride and ended up filming a bunch of clips for this new edit. As always, Jake brings some awesome riding making for a video definitely worth watching. Check it!
Haha, this is pretty good. Plus Size BMX caught up with Bruce Crisman at The Lumberyard for a little video interview action. The level of seriousness is pretty low, but that’s what makes it such a good watch. Find out what’s new with Bruce along with some laughs in this.

Some of my earliest memories of Bruce Crisman are from around 10 years ago when I first started seeing him in magazines, videos and at big contests like the X-Games. In fact, I’ve got an old Diamondback poster of him doing a 360 one-handed X-up at Woodward still hanging on the wall of the room I grew up in. Over all those years I’ve been a big fan of Bruce and it was always awesome seeing him progress from this killer contest rider into a freecoasting street machine.
Then a few years ago he kind of disappeared with rumors about his back keeping him off his bike. It was weird thinking that there’s a good chance I wouldn’t see fresh footage from him again.
That was until a few months ago when he started popping up in edits. Then it was announced that he had joined the 2Hip team and I knew he was really back on it. Last week his welcome edit dropped and people were blown away including myself. Shortly after I posted up the edit, I got an email from the legend himself thanking me for posting up the video. I was honestly blown away. I also knew there was no way I wasn’t getting an interview out of him to see what he was up to and what he has planned now that things are back on track for him. This is one interview I never thought I’d get to do. Let’s check it out!
