“How To Enter: All you have to do is draw a picture that is relative to Chef Chachi in some way. Easy right? Once your masterpiece is complete, take a photo and upload to Instagram with the hash tag #ChachiBarContest and tagging @VolumeBikes. Raban himself will pick 2 winners on July 15th. Winners drawings will be posted on the Volume Instagram. Good luck & may the most ridiculous drawings win!“- Volume Bikes
Volume‘s Mike Mastroni had a second angle of Alex Raban’s wild gap to rail from his welcome to Volume edit from a while back that needed to be put to use instead of never being seen… So he uploaded it for everyone to enjoy! Take a peek!
“I decided that I need to get more into taking photos and just covering our daily activities for you guys with the DSLR instead of just taking shitty iPhone pics all the time. Duh right? I was going thru the stuff that was already on the card and remembered that we filmed a second angle of Raban’s crazy gap to rail ender in his Welcome Edit almost a year ago now. When it comes to filming, I hate DSLR shit with a passion, so that is probably why this angle never got used. But now since it’s like found treasure, here’s another perspective for ya….Alex is the man! #beforetheafro” – Mike Mastroni
This past week was a crazy one for BMX videos. Going through the Daily Section, I honestly couldn’t believe how many super good videos came up the past week. It was to the point where I had to narrow the list of videos down because it was getting a little crazy. This week we have 25 videos for you to go through and check out featuring the likes of Erik Elstan, Seth Peterson, Alex Raban, Luc LeGrant, Simone Barraco, Matthias Dandois, Stefan Lantschner, Anthony Perrin, Luc LeGrand, Ronnie Napolitan, Javi Castilla, Jackson Ratima, Carlo Hoffmann, Jeff Klugiewicz, Gabe Brooks, JC Pieri, Jeremy Ball, Matthias Dandois, Rob Wise, Jeremiah Smith, Nick Seabasty, Ryan Howard and many, many more! Let’s get into this already!
Alex Raban is one of those guys who I’ve been a big fan of for years from all of his DVDs and videos he has put out to the crazy costumes he’s always popping up in. Alex has always been one of the people I thought deserved the chance to be a pro rider and as of lately, that’s definitely been happening. With his signature colorway on the Volume Bermuda frame and new signature Iron Chachi bars being out, two video parts he’s stacking clips for and a bunch of miles being clocked on the road, we figured it would be a good time to catch up with the guy to find out what’s new. Let’s see what he had to say!
Name: Alex Raban
Did you know Alex Raban was getting a set of signature bars from Volume? I didn’t… But they dropped today! The Iron Chachi bars are made from 13-butted heat-treated 4130 chromoly and feature a rise of 8.3″, width of 29″, 12-degrees of backsweep, 2-degrees of upsweep, a crossbar height of 6.2″ and a crossbar width of 10.4″. These bars feature thicker butting on all of the stress points to increase the overall strength throughout. The Iron Chachi bars weigh in at 29.4 oz. and come in chrome and flat black. You can find out more about these bars right here.
