The other day, our friend and photographer, Josh Olszowka, hit us up with word that he had a bunch of new photos for us to check out. Josh has clearly been busy shooting lately because he had narrowed his selection down from a couple hundred down to 30. This new gallery features the likes of Chase Pauza, Matt Lough, Dan Kruk, Keegan Rowley, Jake Whitney, Cody Belcher, Kris Lesiak and Adam Watts all getting down on spots around Chicago, Milwaukee and Greenville, North Carolina! Take a look!

Through The Lens: The Essentials
For this week I decided to take a close look at some of my favorite pieces of gear. As a photographer there is nothing more essential than your gear and over time you really learn exactly what it is that you like, and what it is that you don’t like. In this case, I wanted to focus on a few things that I enjoy shooting with and talk a bit about each individual piece. Some people have a favorite lens, some have a favorite flash and if you’re anything like me and love all aspects of photography, I’m sure you have quite a few favorites. When I sat down to think about what I actually wanted to focus on I decided fairly quickly and got the project going. Take a few minutes and find out what gear that I can’t live without in this week’s TTL #84.

Through The Lens: A Different Perspective #4
As a photographer I am always searching out ways to set myself apart and create content that people will be into. It’s one of the biggest challenges and one of the hardest parts about it to be honest, especially these days when everyone has a camera of some sort with them on a regular basis whether it is a digi-cam or an iphone and life is being documented by the minute. It’s a mix of doing what makes you happy and trying to figure out what will make viewers happy as well. That’s where this new “A different perspective” idea came from. Over the years I have interviewed tons of pro riders about anything and everything except one important topic. What is it like from their perspective to go out and shoot with a photographer? What it is that makes one person better to shoot with than others? I have always wondered about what goes on inside a riders mind before they prepare to shoot a crazy banger and put all of their trust into the photographer. See what Ryan Nyquist, Greg Illingworth, and Daniel Dhers all had to say for the fourth edition of “A different perspective.”

It’s amazing how many talented riders and people come from the Portland, Oregon area. I recently came across Jason’s work when he shot the photos for Bruce Crisman’s interview a while back. I was really stoked on the photos so I decided to hit up Jason to see if he would be interested in doing a fresh photo gallery for us. When I saw the photos, I knew we had to do an interview to go with them because they were so good. Luckily, Jason was up for it all and here we have it! Check out Jason’s interview below, then hit up the PHOTOGALLERY to check out a bunch of his photos! Let’s get into it.

Wes McGrath Bio
[video_widget]
A few weeks back, I started talking with Mario Carrasco about getting some projects going with some of the riders around the New Mexico area. We started talking about a few different riders to feature and the idea of doing a bio on Stranger‘s Wesly McGrath came up. Not only is Wes a really talented rider, but he’s also working hard to create a career as a professional photographer for himself, so it was a no brainer that this needed to happen. Mario spent some time recently with Wes to get a real good interview and some dialed riding clips. They ended up with this damn good video for you to check out. Kick back and hit that play button to find out more about this guy chasing the BMX dream! It’s a real good watch!
