Bobby Kanode uploaded Troy Blair‘s section from the “Lightworks” video online for your viewing pleasure. Troy’s one of those riders that you can always count on to deliver something awesome and this part is a good reminder of that. This has a good mix of tricks from grinds to big wallrides, hang fives and much, much more. This section spans 4 years worth of riding which helps give it a bit of a unique vibe just because his riding evolved and changed in that time little by little. Hit play and enjoy!

It’s wild to think of Troy as one of the O.G’s since I still remember first filming him at ASU campus for Mediocre at Best 7 years ago like it was yesterday. He’s always been able to do almost any trick you can think of, and his choice of what to do and film has developed into his own delightful signature style. If you hear some howling in the background on everyone else’s clips in the video, it’s most likely him. He’s been with this project from the very beginning in 2014, and has watched the whole thing go from a summertime mixtape, to never happening, to actually maybe gonna happen, back to never gonna happen, and so on and so forth. Things just wouldn’t be the same without dis man.

Hayden Shimmell “Lightworks” Section

“Lightworks” Promo #3

After 4 years, it looks like the “Lightworks” video is finally dropping!

Here’s one we really didn’t know if we would ever see released or not! About 4 years ago Bobby Kanode released the first trailer for the “Lightworks” video he was working on featuring the crew out in Arizona. After not hearing much about the video for a while, today Bobby released the 3rd promo video for the video and details on the premiere that’s going down later this month in Phoenix! Subrosa’s old filmer, Bobby Kanode, decided to release a video that might not have ever seen the light of day…

Anyone who has taken filming BMX serious has always dreamed of being paid to film for a brand or a video project. Bobby Kanode spent 3 years as the team filmer for Subrosa, which meant he spent his days traveling all over the place with the team filming for web videos, full-length videos and more. During his time he stacked a lot of clips, some were used, others weren’t and were just sitting on his hard drive waiting to be seen. The time has finally come, because Bobby has gone through and edited the clips into this full-length video that’s loaded with pure gold featuring their team riders, past and present, during that time frame. When Subrosa first started out, they did a lot of their projects in black and white, so that’s where the title comes from. Get the full story from Bobby below!

“From 2013 to 2016 I had the opportunity of a lifetime to be the filmer for Subrosa Brand. When it was all over I was left with a hard drive full of good times, and last year I chopped this video up to “clean out my closet.” I can’t say enough good things about all the boys, and I had the time of my life. This is kind of the DVD that never happened. Big thank you to Ronnie Bonner and Ryan Sher for having me for those years, and bigger shout out to the best team in BMX.

We’ve got a lot of recycled clips in here but they’re in color now, as well as brand new (yet still old) never seen section from Johnny (no longer on Subrosa) and a stacked friends section. Pretty hyped!

Bobby Kandoe uploaded a Matt Ray video that didn’t make it to the final cut…

It’s always crazy to think about some of the videos that never end up seeing the light of day. Bobby Kanode had put this draft sample video together for Matt Ray‘s welcome to the Subrosa Brand Pro team video that came out a while back, but after another trip or two that added in more clips, the whole video ended up getting a re-edit before release. What’s crazy is that this video is an absolute banger and would have done just fine, but everyone decided to step it up a few more notches, which is also rad. Either way, Bobby decided to upload this version to his personal Youtube since it was too good to just dump in the trash and erase, and we’re glad he did it. Hit play and enjoy.

“This was the first draft I sent to subrosa for Matt’s welcome to pro video. This was before his second trip to AZ to film for this, and it reflects where I was emotionally at this point. This is one of my favorite things I’ve ever made and I hope u like watching his epic tricks to my weird sad taste in music. What happens when you give Matt Ray a place to ride like Rye Airfield all to himself? Bangers.

Subrosa just dropped this new video featuring Matt Ray going to work during some private riding time he got in at Rye Airfield with a few friends. Matt is the kind of rider that can absolutely slay rails and ledges, but he also has a deep bag of tricks when it comes to blasting quarterpipes, box jumps and more. Needless to say, Matt put his skills to work all over Rye Airfield. Hit play and take it all in!

I Got Work Crew Does Sacaton Skatepark

It has been a while since we’ve seen a BMX video from the same crew that did “I Got Work” out in Arizona. Here’s a look at a fresh batch of clips the crew stacked during a session at the Sacaton Skatepark. As always, these guys bring a good vibe and plenty of dialed riding. Take a look!

It’s been a little while since we’ve seen Troy Blair‘s name pop up, which is a bummer since we’re always stoked on his riding. Fortunately, Bobby Kanode was sitting on a bunch of leftover footage of Troy that never made its way into the Lightworks video that came out last year and pieced together this video to check out. Troy always gets creative with his riding and pulls off some ridiculous nose balance on some interesting setups. That’s the kind of gems you can find in this one, too. Check it!
