Chris Silva just hit us with a link to his latest BMX video for your viewing pleasure. Recently, Chris made a trip south to Los Angeles to spend some time soaking up the sun and riding. During his stay, he ended up at a couple different pools where he stacked some clips! This video has a real laid back vibe, but plenty of goodness. Hit play and enjoy!
“MacNeil Bikes sent me out to Los Angeles for a couple of weeks during the cold Canadian winter. I spent most of my time with Andrew Lazaruk & Rick Thorne emptying out and riding pools. Instead of taking the sessions too serious, I just set my phone on top of whatever was around and recorded some clips. This edit is in exact order of the pools and sessions we had.
Thanks again to Andrew & Rick for taking me along on the adventures, as well as Adam22 and the OSS crew for letting me crash at their house.

Here’s a promo BMX video featuring Chris Silva putting his signature Nub Nuts from Animal Bikes to proper use! Chris has been running these for a little while now, but it looks like they’re finally available through BMX shops and mail-orders worldwide. These little nub nuts replace your axle nut or bolt for female hubs with a longer, round nut or bolt that gives you a little something to grind on. This is a great option for those of you who want a little extra challenge when it comes to grinding or just don’t want to run pegs, but still want to grind. Check it out!
“I don’t believe I’m over-stretching when I say that no one else in BMX that has pegless grinds on lock like Chris Silva. Most the credit surely goes to Chris and his borderline obsessive attention to detail, but his signature “Nub Nuts” from Animal surely get some credit, as well. No need for a 17mm, either. Just use a ratchet and you’re good to fire out pegless backwards rails, hangers, and pegs to hard 180’s.
“Chris Silva’s signature “Nub Nuts” are made from Heat Treated Chromoly. They are available in 14mm female and 10mm male (10x1mm TPI)”” – Ride BMX
When it comes to grinding rails on a BMX bike, things can go from good to bad really fast. When it comes to grinding rails like Chris Silva who runs slightly extended axle nuts, grinding a rail can get pretty dicey pretty quickly. If you caught his Macneil Any Means Necessary video part, you probably saw him conquer this huge kinker rail with a double peg (well, stub) to bottom bracket grind. What you probably didn’t know is that trick didn’t happen first go and third time definitely wasn’t the charm. Chris compiled the clips showing the battle he had against this rail for his ender clip. Talk about absolutely insane.
“My part ender trick from the 2015 MacNeil – Any Means Necessary DVD. This session was filmed April 21st 2013.
Pegless double peg to bottom bracket grind, on a kinked rail.

Always a good day when Chris Silva hits us with a link to his latest BMX video. Here’s his latest that he cooked up from a few solo sessions on a bunch of unique street spots for the Northern Embassy. We’re not sure how Chris rides a few of these spots, but he gets it done and he gets it done well. Check it!
“As you probably know, Chris SIlva is always searching and finding amazing new spots in Toronto. Here he makes the most of 3 spots and his camera/ tripod. Can’t even begin to imagine that last clip alone, Silva’s the man.
