Division Brand Expanding Product Range

February 17, 2015

division-brand-bmx-grips

Here’s some interesting news that we just caught on the Division Brand website. After a few years of just doing small parts, it looks like they have plans to expand their entire product range to complete bikes, frames and even more options for parts. Check out the official word from Clint Millar on the news. Definitely a big surprise and we’re excited to see what is to come!

“It’s been a few years now since we launched Division Brand & the support the brand has been given has been nothing short of amazing. From all the team who are down for the cause, to our list of distributors from all over the planet, to all the amazing shops that carry our products & to the riders who have bought our products, we all thank you.

It’s now time to step things up a couple notches again for Division Brand.

We will be vastly increasing the product range on hand. What started as a smaller parts range, will now include a full complete bike range, after market frames & the range of parts will be expanding as well.

New parts additions will be our first grip, the Tactical Hubs & much more still in the works. All with the definitive Division Brand aesthetic making it have it’s own appeal. These newer items will start to be available from June throughout the end of the year. The frames & complete bikes will be available from October with new parts starting to appear during these times as well.

With all these changes also comes extra responsibilities & to take these on, Cooper Brownlee will step up his role into the brand manager for the company. Cooper will also join officially as a team rider. Something he pretty much always did behind the scenes, along with all his other duties within the Colony BMX family of brands. Nothing will change with his affiliation with our other brands & he will continue to do so more than ever.

I look forward to this new & exciting chapter ahead for Division Brand & I thanks all those in advance who are down with the cause. Even better things are just around the corner, so stay tuned.” – Clint Millar – rider owner Division Brand / Colony BMX / Academy BMX.

Ryan Guettler Leaves Colony and Joins Hyper / Snafu

September 6, 2014

Here’s some news that left us saying “No way!” as soon as we saw it…. It turns out that after nearly 10 years on Colony, Ryan Guettler has decided to leave the team to pursue a spot on the team and be the brand manager for Hyper and Snafu that Matt Bischoff left open a little while back. This is definitely an unexpected move. Here’s some more about the news below…

“I didn’t think I would ever be writing this here but Ryan Guettler is no longer riding for Colony as of today.

He has decided to leave the team, to take a job as a brand manager / pro rider at Hyper & Snafu. I know Ryan has wanted a job within the industry for a while now & I personally wish him all the best in this new chapter in his life.

Ryan has been with Colony since our inception in 2005, he was the first rider I chose as a team rider back then. More importantly, I have known & ridden with Ryan since he was just 7 years old. It has been a fun ride the last 24 years & I am sure there will be many more sessions to come. I do thank you Ryan for your efforts with Colony over the years, it is appreciated. Let the good times roll ahead !! I wish you all the best mate!” – Clint Millar

“What ever I write will not show my appreciation and gratefulness I have for Clint Millar and the family I have over at Colony. All the road trips and good times with the team will be my memories for life. Nothing will change our friendship or the the way I think of the guys over at Colony but this next step is a must for me to take. My career is sunsetting and I’ve always wanted to learn the business side of things. I’ve been through all the ups and downs with in BMX over the past 20 years of my career, my knowledge will help Hyper and Snafu. This would not have been an option with out Clint guiding me along the way. He is a best friend and the god of front brakes, I wish Clint nothing but the best. To all the riders at Colony keep it rubber side down and I’ll miss you guys.” – Ryan Guettler

Colony – DIY in Melbourne

May 19, 2014

It’s pretty amazing what a little quick crete and a few pieces of wood can create! Check out some D.I.Y spots all over Melbourne getting put to good use by some of the Colony team!

“We knew of a few drain spots that already existed here in Melbourne so Cooper spent some time fixing up a few along with creating some new spots and then invited some of the guys to come down and ride the spots for 3 days.
We had to do this during the middle of summer so that we didn’t get washed away and to be able to build at the spots. This all worked well besides the temperatures going above 40 every day we were out but all the guys were real good about it and still shredded it. Here is the video (and photos) from the project, hopefully we get to do another one next summer.
Riders: Zac Miner, Tom Stretton, Alex Hiam, Polly, Jack Kelly, Mick Bayzand, Marnold, Clint Millar

Colony – Forks With Brake Mounts

March 4, 2014

If there’s one trend I’d like to see come back in BMX, it’s front brakes. This video Colony just dropped is pure GOLD.

“We’re one of the few brands who still make forks with brake mounts these days, always have, always will.
To celebrate this fact we compiled a bunch of front brake clips from Clint, Polly & Bobbie. Some new, some older but all showing good use of the front brake. It’s something we feel very strongly about & will always offer within our product range. Forks with brake mounts are here to stay & we’re helping that one bike at a time. #colonybmxbrand #frontbrakebrethren
