The Secret To Editing BMX Videos

January 10, 2018

Let Cult Crew’s filmer, Veesh, give you some tips on filming and editing…

The crew at Ride BMX caught up with Cult‘s filmer Veesh to get some tips and advice when it comes to filming and editing a BMX video. This one takes us along with Veesh and Dakota Roche as they do some filming at a spot, then we get a look at how Veesh puts it together to make for a rad little edit. Great advice and examples in this one, so if you’re looking to get into making BMX videos, give this a watch!

“Cult’s resident filmer and all around great human, Richard “Veesh” Krumm, gives up the secret to making great BMX edits…everything around the actual riding. The trick is the main course, but what you film and gather around the riding is the desert. You like that analogy? I just made it up. Anyway, check the video and pay close attention, because this is the difference between people who film BMX and people who are videographers…” – Ride BMX

Cult – Dakota Roche Self-Filmed In San Francisco

January 9, 2018

Dakota Roche spent a few days cruising spots around San Francisco on his own!

There’s something about riding spots and cruising by yourself. It kind of opens up what you’re thinking about doing at a spot since you aren’t motivated by what somebody else is doing or having somebody call you out. Add in a camera to film the clips and you end up having to get real creative to ensure you get the shot and have it look good. Dakota Roche decided to spend a few days exploring the streets of San Francisco on his own and ended up stacking a bunch of clips. Check out this rad video Dak put together for Cult showing us what he got into!

“This solo video piece is the result of getting to cruise the Bay Area for a few days at the end of 2017. I was finding so many rad spots during my explorations that I couldn’t help but put a little project together… I present to you a combination of a few of my favorite things; riding, searching, filming and editing. Hope y’all enjoy” – DAK ROCHE

Here’s a little taste of what the Cult team have been working on lately! We have been getting hints and random bits like this Instagram Compilation, but we finally get a look at some of the clips that won’t be making the cut for the final video. Above is just over 3 and a half minutes of clips that didn’t make the cut from a recent team trip to Texas, but are still super good. We have a feeling the actual video is going to be a serious banger!

“We’re continuing to film “It’s Later Than You Think” but we thought we’d give you a teaser with some of the clips from our first trip to Austin. Dakota Roche, Chase Hawk, Chase Dehart, Alex Kennedy, Sean Ricany more to be add… vvvvv” – Cult
