Madera – Dan Foley “10 Year Mixtape” Section

January 16, 2017

Here’s one we’ve been waiting for! Madera have released Dan Foley‘s section from their “10 Year Mixtape” video! As always, Dan brings a TON of style and buttery smooth lines on everything he touches from skateparks to street spots and pools! This is definitely a BMX video you’ll want to check out!

“Madera BMX – Dan Foley – 2016 Video

The beginning of 2016 marked 10 years of existence for Madera. From three simple products to a full line of parts, we have grown thanks to two things: the people who have supported us and the riders who represent us. So, to celebrate 10 years of American-made BMX parts, 10 years of riding and traveling, and 10 years of great times, we think it’s fitting to showcase the riders who keep us going in a video made for the people who have kept us going. The team, some old and some new, have worked hard for the last 9 months to do what they do best and share it with all of you who have supported us in the past, continue to support us now, or may support us in the future. Check out what makes us tick, what we are proud to share, and what we hope gets you stoked. Thanks for all of your support and here’s to another 10 years!

Filmed and Edited by Grant Castelluzzo
Additional Filming by Mike Hinkens, Dan Foley, Nate Depatger, and Zach Krejmas.

January 9, 2017

Dan Foley is back at it with a new video from some time he spent cruising a few curb cuts around his hometown. Although the setups were pretty minimal, he was able to come up with some real dialed clips. Great style and a cool vibe with some clean film work. What do you guys think of the narration style videos that Dan has been doing? Let us know in the comments!

“20″ wheels and 6″ curbs; they go together quite nicely.”

Dan Foley – Sorry Toppy

January 4, 2017

Dan Foley recently spent some time back home in Maryland for the Holidays. While he was there, he met up with his buddy Toppy to spend some time cruising some of their original go to spots. This is pretty laid back, but both of these guys came through with some rad clips. If you love manuals and keeping things simple, you’re going to be pumped on this one.

“No matter how much time passes or how much certain spots stay the same, the sessions never get any less fun.

Always a pleasure getting in a hometown session with my good friend, Toppy.”

Cult “Something New” Video + Robbie Morales Q&A

December 22, 2016

Cult coming through with a banger of a BMX video to officially welcome DAN FOLEY to their squad! If you have been paying attention to Dan’s Youtube channel and Instagram the past few weeks, you might have already figured this one out, but now it’s out for everyone to know! This video features Dan, Dakota Roche, Sean Ricany, Iz Pulido and Andrew Castaneda. Dan joining the team might not surprise some people since his buttery smooth style and everything he does fits well with the direction Cult is going. Hit play and check out all this goodness, then check out a few words from Robbie Morales about Dan joining the team and more!

“The title says it all, SOMETHING NEW, welcome aboard DAN FOLEY. Short and sweet, we made our annual trek out to the desert and kept the stoke high with the crew. Theres something special out there, hard to describe, but it’s real. Filmed and edited by our dude VEESH…”

Yoooo Robbie! How’s it going? It looks like you decided to drop a present early on everyone with this “Something New” video. How long has this project been in the works for?
Things are good and moving fast. As with most of our projects lately there done on the fly, so we headed out to Palm Springs for the annual DAK FRIDAY event at Kings Ride Shop and decided to invite Dan Foley to come out and film with Veesh and some of the crew for a bit. I think we created a cool edit that should motivate the viewer to ride.

We had a feeling the name “Something New” has to do with the addition of Dan Foley to the team. We know there’s a lot of thought and reasoning behind picking a new rider when it comes to Cult. What was it about Dan that stood out to you? Definitely a lot of thought on who gets on but with Dan, he embodies our style. He’s self motivated, rides his ass off with style, and has a awesome attitude. We previously tried to get something going awhile back but it didn’t work out, the time is right now and we are proud to have him aboard.

Obviously Dan has been one of those guys who has been super proactive in not only riding, but producing content which is always important these days. What are you most excited about when it comes to working with Dan?
Most of us are most impressed on his grind, he lives in a somewhat remote area for BMX but creates awesome content on his own, so we were psyched to provide a space where he could do his thing and work with a crew backing him.

We had noticed Dan was riding a Cult set up a few weeks back, but didn’t know for sure if it was just a hook up or the real deal. Is it hard to keep a secret like a new team addition these days with all the social media and video work?
Kind of but as the brand we decide when the time is right, same went for Ricany, people knew but we announced it when we felt it was right. Both guys put in work before they were fully on, that’s a sign of a real rider who is down for the brand.

It seems like over the course of the past year or two the team has been refined and dialed in more and more with guys like Sean Ricany getting into the mix. Is there any chance we’ll be seeing some other big surprises in the near future as far as the team goes?
We definitely have more plans for 2017, more working up guys from within and taking care of the legends who built the brand as well.

I know you like to keep Veesh and the rest of the team busy working on projects. Are there any plans for another full-length down the road? It has already been, what, like 2 years since “Small Talk” came out?
That’s the debate right now, we want to commit to a project, more info soon.

Cult will be going into its 7th year in 2017. What has been the biggest thing you have learned this past year when it comes to running a brand?
Wow, good question, I can honestly say I learn something everyday while running the brand. We are a small brand that takes on big things and tries to handle them with style and grace to the best of our ability. As things change so quickly in society and BMX we continue to stay the course and run the most intelligent brand we can.

The new 2017 range from the complete bikes, frames and parts are looking real good. What are you most stoked on for the new goods? Everything is available now, right?
Yes, we also just received a new softgoods drop with art from ADAM L.ROYE, the 2017 completes are the best bikes we have done yet, and we are constantly keeping the frames fresh with new colors and options.

That about wraps it up. Anything else you wanted to say?
Going into 2017 hopefully BMX can keep the positive vibes going, respecting all riders from all disciplines. We are all riders for fuck sake. Time to get over ourselves and get back to why we started riding in the first place, the love of BMX. Thanks Kurt for the questions and shouts to anyone who supports CULT.

Dan Foley – An Argument For Riding Everything

December 14, 2016

Here’s an interesting video Dan Foley dropped on his Youtube channel in response to an article he spotted on Imprimatur BMX that talks about how there’s no such thing as a BMX rider that actually rides everything. It’s kind of crazy to think about how segmented things have become between street, dirt, park and flatland, but how oddly enough they have all some what absorbed the other aspects. Hit play and get Dan’s thoughts on the subject.

“With BMX getting so technical and difficult in recent years, it’s become common for riders to only ride and focus on one discipline. While this does benefit the progression of the sport in many ways, it also prevents riders from experiencing so much BMX has to offer.

Being someone who loves riding a multitude of things , I wanted to give my argument for riding everything and why doing so is beneficial to any rider.
