Dan’s Comp – Van Homan Welcome Edit
Just when you think the Dan’s Comp team couldn’t possibly get any better… They go an add Van friggen Homan to their team! This is an epic addition for sure. Check out this welcome edit showing you he’s finally back on it! Can’t wait to see what’s to come.
“Huge news in the team department for Dan’s Comp. We are honored to announce the addition of BMX legend John Vandever Homan, more commonly known as Van Homan, to the crew! Van has maintained legend status for a decade plus with his burly brand of all-terrain riding, numerous contest placings, NORA cups and of course, video parts. Many pro riders cite Van’s part in the classic Little Devil video, Criminal Mischief, as an inspiration and it goes down in the history books as one of the best BMX video parts of all time. Van’s reign in BMX has only gained momentum since that time and he is still at the top of his game. Van is a long standing member of the Fit Bike Co. team, as well as holding it down for G-Sport, Duo, and Ipath shoes. We had originally planned for Van to join the Dan’s team at the beginning of 2013, but a serious leg break mid way through last year kept him of his bike. Now that Van is almost back to full speed, we got him locked in and on a trip to Texas with Dan’s Comp DVD videographer Stew Johnson to get some fresh footage from the man himself, which you are about to see. Van’s new team mates Tony Hamlin and Seth Kimbrough add some insight to his joining the squad as well as in Tony’s words, him “getting back on the horse”. Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Van Homan to the Dan’s Comp team…”
Through The Lens: Catching Up with Stevie Churchill
Anyone who follows BMX closely knows that Stevie Churchill is a kid from the East Coast that absolutely kills it. He is known for doing ridiculously difficult tricks that some pros would hold onto for enders in legit video parts, only he does them in everyday web edits. There is something about his riding that is crazy to watch because he makes everything look so effortless. There isn’t a single rider out there that could disagree with the fact that Stevie is changing the street game as we speak. Not only does he kill it with how technical his riding is but he also mixes in the big moves that would make anyone’s ankles and wrists cringe. He is humble, doesn’t let his talent get to his head and has the skills to be on top of the podium at any street contest out there. I got the chance to chill with him for the day before he headed back East and took some time to fire some questions his way to fill everyone in on what’s going on. Enjoy.
