Quicky: Tom Villarreal

Tom is the kind of rider who absolutely kills it but people seem to always wonder where he is or when his next edit or video part will drop. It sounds like Tom has been hustling real hard to wrap up filming for his section in the Props“Owned” video the last few months while recovering from some injuries and working full-time. I figured it would be a real good time to catch up with him to see what he has been up to and what we can expect from his section in the upcoming release. Let’s see what he had to say…

“Coming out with a new edit for Mat would be easy to do each week. He just produces. So I brought Mat up to Daytona skatepark while he was in town riding trails to get a little session at the amazing and free park that Daytona has to offer. While there he was testing out the Silver PC pedals, and as you can see he stomped on them with no flaws. Check the last trick. Also we sat down and made noises at each other, but in the end you can learn a few things about how and why Mat Olson rides a bike.- ” – DECO.

“Mat Olson was in Florida for a week and the trip wouldn’t be complete without a session at the Maitland trannies. Jon Wells Bike Check

Jon Wells is a legend in BMX. If you ever have the chance to meet him, you will understand (depending if he’s Jonathan or Jon). The only man to brawl at the Belmar, and a constant road tripping machine could describe him well. During the day, Jonathan handles Sun Ringle, and at night Jon brings out the best stanky leg. On the recent trip to Toronto, I shot some photos of his bike and forced him to stop working so hard and answer some questions. Check out Jon’s new Tree along with a few random photos I shot of Jon this past year or so.

Quicky: Chad DeGroot

Quicky is a new feature I’m going to try and start firing out here on the regular. It’s basically an interview, but straight to the point of “what are you up to” with no real extra non-bmx related questions that I’ll mix in with the regular interviews. I figured I’d start these off with the one and only Chad DeGroot. Anyone who knows Chad knows that he’s a definitely a little kooky, but awesome. He gets himself into some ridiculous situations and has some of the best stories ever. Chad also always has something going on.
