Photogallery – Red Bull Dreamline – Finals

September 26, 2011

The finals from Red Bull‘s Dreamline went down this past Saturday. The format was once again very loose with everyone who didn’t make it into finals voting for the top 3 riders. With a line up of Brian Foster, Chris Doyle, Mike “Hucker” Clark, Luke Parslow, Dennis Enarson, Cory Nastazio, Gary Young and TJ Ellis in the finals, good things were obviously going to happen.
After the lines were touched up and watered by the building crew, the guys started rolling in on the trails. Once everyone was good and warmed up, the guys in the finals were given the heads up that the clock was going to start and they had an hour to impress everyone with everything in their bag of tricks.
Needless to say, the final jam turned into a full on session with almost everyone riding; not just the guys in the finals. As the time progressed, things started getting real hot with guys throwing down things they have never done or haven’t done in years. Everyone was vibing so well that once the clock ran out, nobody said anything and just let the guys keep going. It was an amazing decision since that’s when two double backflips came out (Hucker and then Luke Parslow) over the big booter, Dennis was destroying the shark fin, Doyle was dropping 720’s mid set and everyone in general was pushing it harder than any of the riding seen the entire weekend.
It wasn’t until Brian Foster went down with a possible torn ACL and the light was fading that the riders decided it was time to shut it down and cast their votes. It was apparent to everyone who would be taking home the cash this weekend.

I’d like to send a huge shout out to Red Bull for organizing one of the most amazing and relaxed contests ever. This is definitely one event that will go down in the history books as how things should be done in BMX.

FINAL RESULTS*
1. Luke Parslow
2. Dennis Enerson
3. Mike ‘Hucker’ Clark
*Only top 3 were ranked.

“LIVING THE DREAM: LUKE PARSLOW WINS BMX DIRT FINAL AT RED BULL DREAM LINE
Private Rider-Judged Contest Goes Big in Small Town Minnesota

September 24, 2011 – (Wabasha, MN) – There was no snow necessary to make a dream downhill run at the Coffee Mill Ski Resort in rural Minnesota this weekend. Luke Parslow put on a non-stop BMX dirt showcase to win the top spot with a barrage of flip tricks. In a flawless two hour session he blasted a 360 backflip, a backflip tailwhip and a double backflip. That was enough to earn the respect of his fellow riders, who awarded him the prize in a contest Parslow called, “the best contest since Red Bull Elevation.”
A first of its kind, Red Bull Dream Line features an unrestricted trails-style course that sent riders to skies and back down again. Sixteen riders hit 13 perfectly groomed jumps in a self-judged contest that encouraged skill and creativity, like Mike ‘Hucker’ Clark’s opposite truck downside 360 whip, a trick which has rarely been seen before.

Red Bull Dream Line project was conceived by BMX pro Anthony Napolitan as way to privately train and develop his tricks. Given six weeks and complete freedom to develop and groom the course to their liking, builders Adam Aloise and Dave King (who previously worked on Red Bull Elevation) began to shape Anthony’s private playground. The course proved to be so amazing he couldn’t keep it to himself, and devised the contest to invite 16 of the worlds best BMX dirt riders to session and see what could be done on a course that includes a 35ft step-up and a first-of-its-kind near vert berm gap named “the shark fin”. Top names in the sport made the trip to Wabasha to see the dream in person, including Red Bull Stomping Ground winner Brandon Dosch, young star Dennis Enerson, and sport legends like Chris Doyle, Cory Nastazio and Brian Foster.

The self-judged format allowed riders complete freedom to judge with no set criteria. On Friday, September 23rd, sixteen riders competed in two heats of eight. The eight athletes in the non-riding heat judged their peers. The top eight moved on to Saturday’s Finals. During a 45-minute jam, Enerson landed a 270 tailwhip on “the shark fin” and Parslow and Hucker both closed down the session with a double backflip on a massive 35ft step-up.

While there is prize money up for grabs, the goal of the contest is take a step back and enjoy riding with freedom from timed runs and the pressure of live TV, on a course that had no rules or constraints. For Napolitan, the event proved to be a dream come true, “This contest made a huge impact on BMX dirt, the riders are psyched and I couldn’t be more happy.”

The past few days have been, well, a dream. Red Bull gave Anthony Napolitan and his team of builders (Adam Aloise and Cody Nutter to name a few…) free reign on the hills of Coffee Mill Ski Resort in Wabasha, Minnesota to build the best possible dirt course they could. With months of secrecy for organizing and building the course, it was finally unveiled with a video that melted minds. Fast forward a few weeks and some of the best dirt riders in the world are flying into Minnesota wondering where the hell they are.
Thursday was the first official practice day, and Friday brought the qualifiers. This contest was ran entirely different than any other contest because the format was very loose. Eight riders would get a one hour heat to get as many runs down the mountain as they can, while the other eight riders would be judging them. After both heats went through, four riders from each heat were picked for the finals that would take place the following day.
Above you can find 56 photos from qualifiers that went down Friday afternoon shot by yours truly. If you would like to see the images in their full size just give them a click.

Haro – Australia Tour Edit

September 3, 2011

“At the end of 2010 a few of the Haro team riders headed to Australia to go down under for an adventure of a lifetime. Sun, sand, skateparks and all the fun you could fit into one trip. Landing in Sydney the guys headed off south through Canberra and Melbourne with a quick stop in Brisbane before checking in and heading home. Thanks to all the shops we were able to stop and visit and everyone we had the chance to ride and hangout with.

Nike 6.0 – HB BMX Pro – All Teams

August 17, 2011

“All three members of Team Kachinsky (Brian Kachinsky, Corey Martinez, and Sean Sexton) are known for unreal video parts, so it’s no surprise that they took the win. So much great technical and burly riding, and producer Will Stroud elevated the team’s video to an incredible level.”

Well, last week we posted up each section one-by-one. Now they’re all together in one place for you to get psyched on. Check out the other 4 teams videos after the jump.
