DIG Now Available For Free in Bike Shops
This is a rad move on DIG‘s part! Waaaay more people will have the opportunity to get a hand on the magazine. I wouldn’t be where I am today without the magazine for sure. I’m excited to see the new format.
“There’s some exciting changes going on at Dig! Here’s an update about the re-launch of Dig as of the next issue (on sale September).
The re-launch will include a change in dimensions to a smaller 270mm x 205mm format and heavier stock paper. The re-launch will also see a shift in editorial direction with each issue following a series of central themes and more emphasis being put back onto the style that made Dig what it is today. Every issue will now be treated as a ‘special edition’, with the first of the new look magazines due to be themed ‘Legends’.
This ‘Legends’ issue will focus on four legendary riders of the DIG era, alongside legendary tricks, spots and much more. We welcome advertisers’ to shape their adverts around this ‘Legends’ theme if they wish to do so.
As well as this new format, we will be expanding our distribution to make Dig free in bike shops in the UK and USA (alongside the magazine still having the same presence on the newsstand) and plan on having 5000 extra free copies in circulation through BMX distributors. The number of free magazines is also likely to increase in future issues as we get a better idea of demand, logistics etc.
This re-launch will help secure Dig’s future as the best international BMX magazine and will bring the magazine to more people than ever before.” – DIG

King For A Day 2012
Every year the annual Charles Prow memorial jam, King For A Day, keeps getting bigger and better. This years was no different. After you check out this video courtesy of The Albion, head over to the DIG website for some photos from the day. Rest in Peace, Charles!
“In 2009 the Leeds scene lost a true character, the much loved Charles Prow. Since his passing the LS6 lads have remembered their old mate with the annual ‘King For A Day’ jam in Charles’ old local spot of Hyde Park. In a shining tribute to their friend the jams in the recent years have been a celebration of burning ramps, back flips and alcohol. This years jam was no exception.
Here’s an edit from the day filmed and edited by Leo Baron.
