“Earlier this month, just prior to Interbike, Australia’s Tempered Bikes crew, featuring Jerry Vandervalk, Nick Kajewski, Brian Histand, Matt Lawton hand Jeff Cadger, hit up Los Angeles for a week of riding and taking in the sights. Photographer Tommy Blanco took the time to show them around for one day, and the above video is the result. For more on Tempered Bikes and their new range of frames, bars, stems and more, check out the new Tempered Bikes site.” – ESPN
Adam Baker at Home
“Several years ago, Adam Baker was an S&M sponsored dirt rider from Prescott, Ariz., with a wild video section in the etnies video “Grounded,” and some of the best truckdrivers and 3-whips in BMX. After leaving the S&M team in the end of 2008, Baker continued to ride, moving to Denver, Colo. to work in a bike shop alongside Leif Valin. And he continues to shred. Recently, Mike Meister caught up with Adam to ride some parks and trails, and Baker delivered. This is Adam Baker, circa 2011. Video by Mike Meister.” – ESPN

CJ Romero Edit
“I rode with Liquor Bikes team rider CJ Romero, aka Cactus Jack, the first time I visited San Marcos, Texas, but didn’t see him ride much at all. He just filmed his friend Big Lou on his flipcam. When I left, I got a hold of the Liquor Bikes “Get Some” DVD and was amazed by his section, all big rail moves done with a super calm look on his face. Afterwards, I dug deeper and checked out his section from Trend’s “2001” video by Joe Simon. CJ has a full section at age 17 doing some of the earliest (if not the first) pegless tricks down real street rails. He’s come a long way and chills more than he rides, but he turned it on again for this edit and I couldn’t be more psyched on it. Also there’s two bro clips of his friend Shea Hord.
Editor’s note: Only Charlie Crumlish would submit this video and forget to mention that it begins with the featured rider competing in a Unicycle Football League.” – ESPN
Athlete Recovery Fund Video
“For the third year in a row, Ball Park has pledged funds to the Athlete Recovery Fund, a non-profit organization that offers financial support for rehabilitation and long-term care for those athletes in BMX, FMX and skateboarding who are left without support following an injury. Together, with the Athlete Recovery Fund, Ball Park has created a promotional video that highlights the plight of the injured action sports athlete, and the efforts the Athlete Recovery Fund has undertaken to aid injured athletes.
For each person who watches the video, Ball Park will donate $1 dollar to ARF (up to $100,000). The video features the likes of Mike ‘Hucker’ Clark, Gary Young, Chase Hawk and Mat Hoffman, whom have all been injured while riding and forced to deal with the rising costs of medical bills.
Created by Aaron Cooke, brother of BMX pro Allan Cooke and a former motocross rider himself, the Athlete Recovery Fund was founded following the career-ending injury of BMX dirt jumper Stephen Murray in 2007. Murray was paralyzed from the shoulders down, and Cooke was forced to realize that there was no program in place to provide assistance to injured action sports athletes, who are often unable to obtain health insurance.
Through Cooke’s efforts, the Athlete Recovery Fund was able to provide Murray with much-needed long term assistance, such as a modified sprinter van with wheelchair access. Murray remains a spokesperson for the Athlete Recovery Fund, and continues to work closely with Cooke. And in the four years since the creation of the Athlete Recovery Fund, the charity has also provided aid to countless professionals in BMX, FMX and skateboarding.
