Etnies – We Have The Spots

November 21, 2016

The Etnies team riders are no strangers to Malaga, Spain with their frequent visits to ride Ruben Alcantara‘s skatepark, the never ending spots and soak up the sunshine. Some of the Etnies international team decided to take a trip that way to spend some time seeing what they could stack for clips. Needless to say, they ended up with another dialed BMX video for your viewing pleasure. Check it!

“Going to Malaga to film a video? Well, Ruben takes us through the essentials before etnies teammates Sebastian Anton, Jordan O’Kane and Harry Mills Wakley take on the task many have previously undertook. These three young’uns came through in a big way for this one – not your average Malaga edit!

Filmed and edited by Peter Adam”

Ruben Alcantara’s Etnies “Forward” & “Grounded” Sections Remastered

June 28, 2016

Ruben Alcantara – Etnies “Grounded”

Ruben Alcantara has been my favorite rider since I first got into BMX some 17ish years ago. The first time I met him, I was the mega fan with his signature Ruben frame from Macneil and his signature Ruben shoes from Etnies. Today, DIG re-released Ruben’s sections from Etnies “Grounded” that came out in 2008, and “Forward” that came out in 2002 for your viewing pleasure in a re-mastered, higher quality than what’s bene floating online for years. This is a reminder as to why he’s a personal favorite of mine and so many around the world. Hit play on both sections and enjoy the gold!

“Grounded was released in 2008 to much anticipation after Etnies previously praised video. After years of filming, the video was delivered to audiences with Ruben being granted the last section again. In six years Ruben’s riding had progressed in a way that seemed unattainable at first but looking at his past only seemed natural. His pursuit of street transitions and banks continuing in full force gave a new meaning to “gap to wallride” throughout his part. Through Ruben’s riding he brought his question of “You’ll never know” until you try to the table with setups and tricks and few if any would think possible.”

Ruben Alcantara – Etnies “Forward”

“Forward was released in 2002 on VHS and DVD with Ruben closing out the video with the final section. A mix of skatepark and street footage, Ruben always managed to find something to blast or get technical on. From massive ditch quarter pipe hips, to wallrides, to fakie smith half-cab tabletops, he was innovating and progressing BMX with each session. His video part gave BMX the beginning taste of where his riding style was going and his conscious effort that less is more.”

Salute To The 4th Contest Flyer

June 21, 2016

salute-to-4th-bmx-contest-flyer-rochester-mn

As many of you know, every year we try and throw a big contest here in Minnesota at one of the skateparks. Last year we did two contests, one in the Winter and one on the 4th of July. After the contest on the 4th of July last year, myself and a few other locals and parents at the skatepark ended up forming a non-profit foundation to help repair and expand the local skatepark in Rochester, Minnesota. The Keep Pushing Forward Foundation was founded and we’ve been working toward our goal, which is a massive skatepark. Once again, we have teamed up with the Salute To The 4th event held by The Commission and the city of Rochester to throw another BMX and skate contest. Above is the flyer for the BMX contest that we’ll be throwing with proceeds from the event, plus donations all going toward the Keep Pushing Forward Foundation! We have a TON of great sponsors, so there will be a ton of prizes up for grabs!

The contest will be in a jam format with beginner, intermediate and expert classes. We will also be throwing a Subrosa Street Rail Jam as well! Practice and registration will kick off at 11 AM on July 4th at Silverlake Skatepark! We’ll be starting the Beginner classes (BMX followed by skate) at 1PM, Intermediate (BMX followed by skate) at 2PM, Expert at 4PM and the Street Rail Jam shortly after that wraps up!

You can PRE-REGISTER here to save yourself a few bucks — PRE-REGISTER HERE!

There will also be a silent auction and raffles to get in on as well!

Alltricks X Etnies – Thibaud Delas

June 3, 2016

It has been a little while since we’ve seen a fresh BMX video from Thibaud Delas, which is probably due to a nasty ankle injury that kept him off his bike for quite a while. It looks like things have cleared up and he’s back to his old self because he has this new Alltricks X Etnies video that’s packed full of heat from street spots in France! Hit play and take it all in!

“Thibaud is back from an long recovery period after a bad ankle infection.
He teamed up with filmer Maxime Charletty to visit Annecy and Geneva Spots this Spring.
Doing it for Alltricks and Etnies.
