Demarcus Paul On Etnies Pro Team

January 19, 2021

Demarcus Paul Etnies Pro BMX

The sponsor news continues to flow! Here’s some news that probably won’t surprise too many people, but it’s great news! Etnies have finally bumped Demarcus Paul up to the Pro team after riding AM / flow since around 2015. This is super well deserved since Demarcus has been crushing it for years now, and we’re excited to see what 2021 has to offer for him!

It also sounds like Etnies have a bunch of things planned for their 35th anniversary this year. New signature shoes and colorways and more on the way. I got a preview of things to come last week and it’s definitely looking pretty rad. So get stoked for that.

“Today, etnies proudly welcomes X Games Real BMX Medalist DeMarcus Paul to the pro team! Joining the ranks of Nathan Williams, Tom Dugan, Chase Hawk, Jordan Godwin, Devon Smillie and Felix Prangenberg, DeMarcus will fit right in with the etnies’ squad.
Originally from Albany, Georgia, DeMarcus’ natural street style speaks for itself as he is known to lay down hammers with a casual approach and humble demeanor. In addition to his 2017 Bronze in X Games Real BMX, DeMarcus landed the coveted ender of the 2015 Volume 1 BMX film and the 2018 Our BMX “Headlights” video.

35 Years of Etnies

January 4, 2021

The crew at Etnies are celebrating 35 years this year! Although they’ve been primarily a skate brand, they have done a lot with and for BMX since 1995 when they signed Rooftop as their first BMX rider. Since then, there has been a lot of BMX history because of Etnies’ support from Pro riders to signature shoes, events they supported like the Backyard Jam, to the 3 amazing full-length videos Forward, Grounded and Chapters! Here’s a video where Etnies owner Pierre André Senizergues tells the story of how it all started, along with some of the highlights from different shoes, to different programs like the Buy A Shoe, Plant A Tree program, to their partnership with Michelin and more. It’s pretty wild to think about how much they’ve done over the years.

This doesn’t have much about BMX in it, but it’s still worth a look because this is an interesting story for sure! It also sounds like 2021 is going to be a big year for the brand as a whole, so get ready!

“35 YEARS OF ETNIES 1986-2021

PAST

It started for me with a simple push on a skateboard in Paris, France. As my pro skate life progressed, I was skating through shoes, and knew skaters needed something better. I wanted to find new ways to advance skateboarding. Only a skateboarder could know our footwear needs, and it was time for shoes designed by skaters for skaters. Since etnies begin in France in ’86, the company has continued to innovate as the first skateboarder-owned and operated global footwear company.

PRESENT

35 years since etnies started we continue to support the skateboard, snowboard, surf, BMX and MTB communities. Fueled by passion, we are still pushing the boundaries and giving back. This year marks etnies’ milestones of planting more than 2 million trees in the rainforest and providing 50,000 pairs of shoes to the homeless.

FUTURE

As the world around us rapidly changes, the one thing that won’t change is our push to continuously create the most innovative products that provide the most style, comfort and protection.

THANK YOU skateboarding and THANK YOU to everyone who has been part of the etnies journey of the past, present and future.

Cheers,
Pierre André Senizergues

Postcode Episode 1 – Animal x Doomed X Etnies X S&M X United

September 18, 2020

London is a massive city, and despite BMX riders going to work on spots all over the city for decades, there’s still untapped or under utilized spots. Here’s the first episode of a series calle Postcode where Jordan Godwin, Fathead, Harry Mills-Wakley and Sam Jones spend a full week exploring a specific section of the city to see what they could find for spots and stack for clips. Hit play to check out 7 minutes of dialed riding, laughs and more!

“FOUR WEEKS, FOUR CREWS, ONE CITY.
”POSTCODE” is a four part series from 4DOWN featuring four crews venturing in to the city of London UK for a week long jaunt, each having a different postcode (zipcode) to venture out from. Episode one starts off real heavy with Jordan Godwin (Doomed/etnies), Fathead (S&M/Animal), Harry Mills-Wakley (United/etnies/Animal), Sam Jones (Doomed/etnies) sampling all that UK brick and concrete they can get, late into each night. What a crew…

Etnies – Felix Prangenberg Welcome To The Pro Team

July 3, 2020

It seems like Etnies have been making some positive moves for the BMX program lately. One of those positive moves is giving Felix Prangenberg the well deserved bump on up to the Pro team! Here’s his welcome video loaded with dialed riding and some words about the news! We can’t imagine this one was a shocker for too many people since Felix has been on fire for quite some time now. Definitely stoked to see Etnies make the move!

“It’s no secret that Felix Prangenberg is one of the top street riders out there right now, but apart from his incredible abilities on a bike you might not be too clued up with what makes the young German tick. He’s just been given the bump up to the etnies Worlwide Pro team and to celebrate we took a look at Felix’s role in his local scene in Cologne. From broadening other riders’ horizons by driving them to different contests and cities throughout Europe, all the way to simply being a great friend who will always have your back, it’s safe to say, Felix plays an important roll in the BMX community – both at home and worldwide. It’s not always just about how good you are on a bike…
