Simple Session 21 – Practice Highlights

Simple Session is going off over in Tallinn, Estonia this weekend! Although it’s not going to be as big as the past events due to COVID, they brought in a bunch of heavy hitters for the contest! The practice sessions have started going down, and things are heating up fast! Check out two videos giving you a look at all the highlights from the first practice thanks to Freedom BMX and DIG!

Vans – Lara Lessmann “Living The Dream”

Vans have added Lara Lessmann to their European team over in Germany! Here’s here welcome video where she tells her story, along with some riding from around Berlin! Hit play and check it out!

Congratulations go out to Lara Lessmann, who made it as the first German rider and next to the Spaniard Teresa Fernández-Miranda as the second woman ever in the VANS European BMX team! To celebrate the day, we have her welcome edit for you and on our site you will also find the appropriate interview, which, in addition to questions about the video shoot, of course also deals with Lara’s somewhat inappropriate injury. Ruhr Games 2021 – Flatland Highlights

Freedom BMX coming through with more goodness from the Ruhr Games that went down over in Germany. Here’s a highlight reel from the Flatland finals. This kicks off with the ladies, then rolls into the men’s side of things. As expected, there was a ton of crazy riding to see. Check it out!

Ruhr Games 2021 – BMX Mini Ramp Highlights

It’s been awesome seeing some bigger BMX contests making a comeback after so many getting cancelled last year. The Ruhr Games went down over in Germany, and it looks like they had a big turn out from of some of Europes finest! Hit play to check out highlights from the mini ramp contest!

After a corona-related forced break, the “Jams & Contests” section of freedombmxTV is slowly picking up speed again. As part of the Ruhr Games 2021, the first BMX contest of the year took place in Germany at the same time as the UCI BMX Freestyle World Championships in France. The fourth edition of Europe’s largest sports and culture festival for young people was held this year in front of 500 spectators: inside the Bochum Ruhrstadion and once again combined sports as diverse as beach volleyball, archery, boxing and BMX. Here are the highlights of the minramp contest with Dean Florian, Tom van den Bogaard, Evan Brandes, Tobias Freilang, Sikharin Supanmart and the like, who clearly showed how much fun it was for them to finally ride their bikes again after such a long period of abstinence and which went accordingly steep. Yeww!

UCI BMX Freestyle Park World Championships – Practice Highlights

This past weekend was the UCI BMX Freestyle Park World Championships in Montpellier, France. Here are two videos Freedom BMX put together from the Men’s and Women’s practice. The way everyone is riding, it’s hard to believe this was just practice! Everyone is going extra hard with little time to get their spot for the Olympics or to just make some moves up in the standings. Take a look!

Pro Walk – Session At The Megabikepark in Darmstadt

Freedom BMX put together this raw cut from a session that went down at the new Mega Bike Park in Darmstadt, Germany! This is a look at the whole place, along with some riding action. If you don’t speak German, there’s a good chance you won’t have a clue what they’re saying, but fortunately riding is a universal language. Watch as the crew explores this incredible new park! This place looks soooo good, with so many lines and things to ride!

“The new bike park in Darmstadt is awesome! We were there when Felix Prangenberg, Tobias Freilang, Dean Florian, Tom Schorb-Mergenthaler and Kim Lea Müller did the first test laps. And they had it all, because the ramps are almost all FISE calibers, in other words: they are very, very large.

But the park is not just for World Cup contenders: inside. In addition to the aforementioned mega-course, there is also a very fun concrete bowl as well as a jumpbox line, a resiline and a small street course. In short: The 1st Darmstadt Skate and BMX e. V. as well as concrete landscapes, Gedo Skateparks and Popular really did a great job. With such a great facility, the locals will surely soon get over the loss of their previous spot, i.e. the park on the city wall. You can see everything else in our video.

NOTE! Before you all set out for Darmstadt, here’s the bummer: Due to corona, the Bikepark Darmstadt can only be ridden by club members until further notice. DSK – DIY BMX Sessions

The Dove Shit Kru have been putting in some work on a fun looking DIY spot over in Vienna. Here’s a fresh batch of footage showing us what’s been going down during the sessions from the rails, ledges, banks and more they setup.

“The DSK homies from Vienna spent at least part of their winter at their DIY spot, which apart from epic sunsets does not have too many highlights. Nevertheless, Valentin Moder, Aaron Theuretzbacher, Matteo Nemeth, Jakob Sommer and Kevin Wollek are rightly happy with their clip yield. Because they definitely got everything out of the really quite limited set-up. They apparently still had so many good moves and a lot of fun despite the sometimes frosty and short days. What more do you want? BMX is and will always be tight!
