Gabe Brooks Tribute Videos

October 24, 2017

BMX lost another great. Rest In Peace, Gabe Brooks.

Yesterday we found out that BMX had lost Gabe Brooks to a shooting, taking him incredibly too early from this Earth. There’s no doubt that Gabe left an impact on so many people and his passing is a huge shock to everyone. Steve Croteau put together this short but sweet video with some footage of Gabe that he had as a tribute to him as his memory. The guys at Ride BMX have also put together a tribute video as well that is nothing short of incredible that you can find below. We won’t forget the amazing talent, drive, ambition and positive attitude he brought with him. If you want to help out Gabe’s family at this time, Steve has a pre-order for t-shirts with full proceeds going to his family that you can pick up. Link below!

ALL PROFITS GOING TO GABES FAMILY” – Steve Croteau

“Gabe Brooks was like a BMX superhero. The first time I ever met him he had just gotten back on a bike after a small stint off of it, and he was loose as hell. He looked like he’d came straight out of a movie about the hood, and just seemed like the furthest thing from a typical BMX rider that you could possibly imagine… but he was calling out superman rail-hops to flat and other crazy shit, and actually kind of sending it. It was obvious that Gabe had at some point ridden BMX, but it’s insane to see where things went from there. Within a couple of short years Gabe got pretty damn good, racked up some sponsors, traveled to Estonia, had some sponsor change-ups, but then put out the best video part of his career in Stranger’s “No Hype”. Gabe also left a legacy behind with the influence he left on people, he had a way of motivating those around him and showing everyone what their true potential was. The circumstances of Gabe’s passing are truly tragic, but let this memoriam celebrate the life he shared with our community of BMX riders. RIP Gabe. Thanks goes out to Miles Rogoish, Darryl Tocco, Mike Mastroni, Chris Mortenson, Nuno Oliveira, Vital BMX, TCU, & Defgrip for their support in video / photo contributions.” – Ride BMX

Here’s another video looking back on Gabe’s amazing talent on a bike…

It’s hard to find words when you hear about a rider that lost their life. It was announced that last night Gabe Brooks was found shot dead in the street in the Vermont Square area of Los Angeles over on Ride BMX. No word on how it all went down, but some details have emerged right here about the incident. As many of you know, Gabe was a phenomenal rider that had a lot of ambition, was always entertaining to be around and definitely left his mark on BMX over the years. We’re completely devastated to hear the news. Another amazingly talented person taken far too early. Rest in peace, Gabe. You won’t be forgotten.

Animal Bikes – Animal House In Los Angeles

June 16, 2017

Here’s one we’re sure a bunch of you have been waiting for! Check out the Animal Bikes new Animal House In Los Angeles video where the crew spent a few weeks exploring the city and crushing spots. Below you can find a super dialed video giving you a look at what went down! You won’t want to miss this. Everything from the riding to the film work is amazing.

“Animal took their tried and true recipe of no-frills street riding to the urban sprawl of Los Angeles. Featuring their west coast contingent along with some east coast heads, the squad includes Augie Simoncini, Colin Varanyak, Andrew Castaneda, Johnny Raekes, Hobie Doan, Abdul Fufanah, Jonathan “Twinn” Jaramillo, Charles Littlejohn, Richard Hernandez, Clay Johnson, and Gabe Brooks. The dudes put a few new twists on some old spots, and unearth some fresh gems as well” – Ride BMX

“We have expanded our team to include an insane crew from the west coast like never before with Andrew Castaneda, Demarcus Paul (who got hurt right before the project), Johnny Raekes, Hobie Doan, Charles Littlejohn, Gabe Brooks and Richard Hernandez. We also have two of our top pros, Augie Simoncini and Colin Varanyak—who originally hail from the east coast—currently calling California home as well. So it only made sense for us to get them altogether and do their thing. We rounded out the squad with a couple of our top east coast riders, Abdul Fufanah and Jonathan “Twinn” Jaramillo, and Clay Johnson from Arizona to add to the mayhem. The riding that went down was wild, insane, technical, dope, crazy, smooth, and above all… motivating to get you to hit the streets right after you watch it. Thank you for your support of Animal and real BMX street riding.” —Ralph Sinisi, Owner of Animal Bikes
