Here’s one we spotted over on The Merged! It looks like G-Sport are working on a new hub guard called the Uniguard, which sits on the outside of your drop outs similar to the Peguard that Mutant Bikes has been working on for a while. This guard is made from heat-treated 4130 chromoly with 2-anti rotation pin holes to keep it from moving. This can be used on the the front or rear, drive and non-driveside. Expect more details closer to its release.

Threads Vol. 6
Man, I don’t know about you, but this week flew by! It’s Friday, so that seems to be the time we’ve been taking a look at Bikeguide to see what they have going on over on the board. We’ve picked up two interesting threads that will get you thinking or have you laughing your ass off to look at!
The first one we picked out is 3D Printing Titanium Parts! There’s been a lot of talk about 3D printing lately and it seems like there’s been more and more people looking into how to make it work for bikes. There’s been a few uses of titanium that are proving to be more affordable than CNC machining and it seems like the concept is getting even closer to actually being used. We even get a look at George French of G-Sport‘s personal 3D printing setup he has been using to prototype designs. Well worth looking into!

The second thread we’ve picked out is for anyone looking to laugh. The Post Internet Funnies (NSFW) thread has a ton of hilarious meme’s, Facebook screen shots, .GIFS and more. This one hits the Not Safe For Work Zone, so only check this out if your boss or mom isn’t around, haha.

Can You 3D Print a BMX with George French
There’s a good chance by now you have heard of 3D printing. If you’re like me, you probably are pretty confused as to what it is and how it all works. It turns out that G-Sport‘s George French has built himself his own 3D printer and has been using it to create prototype samples of parts he is working on to see what it looks like in comparison to just a CAD drawing on a computer. This sounds like it could very well be the future of BMX product development, so head over to Ride UK for an interview with George where he explains what 3D printing is and how it can be applied to BMX.

With the start of 2014, there were a lot of surprises when it came to sponsor changes and announcements. One of those changes that really caught us off guard was Dan Foley’s decision to step away from the Premium team after a few years with them on his own. We figured it has been a while since we’ve caught up with Dan and were curious what lead to his decision, so we got ahold of him to find out the story and see what else is new with him! Check out what he had to say!
