Bobby Kanode had Karl Poynter on for an interview!
The latest episode of Kanode Knows has arrived, and this time around Bobby Kanode brought on Karl Poynter to tell his story from how he got into BMX on through his Pro career, up through what he has going on these days with his shop and things he’s into outside of BMX and more. Karl is a super good dude, and he has an interesting story for sure. Get on that play button to give it a listen!
Karl Poynter hit us with some news that his shop he runs with his brother is throwing a big jam on August 7th at the skatepark in New Castle, Indiana! If you’re in the area, this is definitely the place you will want to be! Check out the flyer for details!

Boom… It’s on! The Shook “It’s On” DVD is now online.
Big shout out to Ryan Howard for taking the time to upload all of these Shook DVD’s the past week or so. Here’s a look at the Shook “It’s On” DVD that featured Jeff Klugiewicz, Kym Grosser, Karl Poynter, Jeff Kocsis, Mark Gralla, Eric Holley and Brad Simms, with a mix section that featured Tony Neyer, Andrew Moor, Dan Marion, Jeff Kennedy, Jeremy Barcik, Jesse Dewlow, Quinn Semling, Will Love, Eli Platt and Josh Suhre. This video was released back in 2006 and features a ton of familiar faces we’re still seeing riding from today. Once again, this video was produced by Chad Shackelford and turned out amazing from the film work and graphics side of things. If you have been watching the different Shook DVD’s over the past week or so, you have likely noticed how the videos have gone from a fairly loosely planned thing, to a pretty set direction and format that kept things flowing really well. Either way, awesome video that’s well worth a watch!
The Shook “Scared To Look” DVD from 2003 has resurfaced!
It’s always rad being reminded of a great video from the past. Ryan Howard uploaded the full Shook “Scared To Look” DVD that was originally released back in 2003 online for everyone to enjoy again. It’s crazy to think this video came out 15 years ago already, and we have a feeling a few of you checking this out might be younger than this video. Either way, this video that Chad Shackelford produced featuring Josh Suhre and BJ Gruitza, along with riders that went on to be Pro or crush it in the industry like Tony Neyer, Chase Hawk, Quinn Semling, Kevin Porter, Dave Jacobs, Karl Poynter, Chase DeHart, Vic Ayala, Brian Foster and many, many more. It’s pretty insane how stacked this video was and still is to this day. If you haven’t seen this, or it’s been a while since you have enjoyed it, this is a video you won’t want to pass up. Deco coming through with a unique promo video for their new Terry Adams signature seat. The team decided to pass one of the seats around and all pull together a clip or two. Hit play and take a look at what went down. This is a rad mix of street, park and flatland, keeping things interesting from start to finish!
“The idea for Pass The Seat is pretty simple. Get a seat and install it, film a clip, send the seat or PASS THE SEAT. Started with Terry Adams since this is his new signature seat available now. Pivotal, all black, FAT version, hollow chromo bolt, super light foam. Mat Olson starts the party with a self filmed run and packs and stacks the tricks. Matt Coplon got a lil artsy with a loading dock line. Karl Poyter long mannie line and seat grab bar spin in the middle was dope. Mannie Nogueira fresh off the boat and at his local spot with a new one and his was excited. Scott Weaver magic knee on the seat in circles is unreal. Ryan Torrance has been on some wild flip kick so might as well add it to smith grind. Chad DeGroot going backwards hop style from front wheel to back wheel. Taylor Bonds backwards tech and tbog smoothness. Dontae Styles 360 roof to flat with screams of excitement. To celebate Deco rolling over 10,000 fans on Instagram, Chad DeGroot and Karl Poynter did a little road trip around a few of Indiana’s cement parks! Between these two guys, you know you’re going to see some damn creative riding. There’s a lot of rocket combos in this that are awesome to see, that’s for sure. LOL at the parents teaching the kids how to graffiti at the end.
“With being so close to the Chicago Dew tour I decided to arrive early, get a car, and meet up with Karl Poynter for a quick trip riding some Indiana parks. With chasing rain drops for 3 days we did get some stuff done, more than we thought. Pretty amazing parks and wild scenes Indy has. We found enough time to get this edit done but plan on another since we just scratched the surface. Karl is so smooth and finds the lines that don’t make any sense but stomps them like its nothing. We were a good team for this, similar likes at parks, exchanging the camera, and shooting pics.
