Merritt BMX – Battle Rim

September 5, 2016

Merritt coming through with a new rim to add to their growing line of products. The Battle Rim steps away from the low profile trend we’ve been seeing in BMX with some taller sidewalls to give the rim a little more beef. The Battle rim is made from 6061-aluminum with a 39mm width and a welded seam to ensure strength. We’re assuming it’s a double wall rim and it appears to have a beefier ridge in the middle to help prevent spokes from blowing out. We’re not sure if the rim will be available in more colors than black, but we can tell you it weighs in at 21.2 oz. and will be available for $79.99 through BMX shops and mail-orders that carry Merritt worldwide.

Due out the end of September

Montana Ricky Bike Build

Montana Ricky hit us with a link to his latest video giving us a look at him building up his brand new setup that has his signature colorway frame from Freed Bikes and Merritt parts! There isn’t a super good look at the bike, so we grabbed a photo that you can check out below. There’s also a few quick riding clips on the bike for you to check out in the video. Take a look!

Merritt – Justin Seiller “I Broke My Nose and Snapped My Leg” – Warning: Graphic

As I sit here trying to post this without squirming and flopping around like a fish because the sight of this stuff just makes me gag… Here’s a video Merritt dropped giving you a look at how Justin Seiller managed to snap his leg and break his nose simultaneously trying to grind a rail… Woof. Not going to lie, I almost fainted watching this one (you know, start getting super hot and dizzy…) and didn’t even finish it. So, shout out to Justin who managed to sit through this and edit a video re-watching it happen over and over again.

Merritt – The Convergence

Merritt coming through with some goodness from the Convergence Jam! This is a heavy mix of action from pros like Mark Burnett, Jake Seeley, Dan Coller and Brandon Begin to the locals who all threw down throughout the day. This looks like it was a damn good time to us and a completely packed house.

“A few weeks back we held our huge Convergence jam up at Willimantic skatepark with the help of Kink, Blackout, Fat Trax and a ton of riders. Thanks to everyone that showed up and helped out. Can’t wait to do this again.”

Merritt BMX – Capece X Cole

Merritt coming through with a new split edit featuring their newest recruit, Ethan Cole, and Jordan Capece getting down on a few plaza spots. These guys both bring a ton of grinds and lines to the table, making for a real solid watch. Check it!

Brandon Begin Bike Check

Merritt have released a new Bike Check with Brandon Begin and his current Fit Begin setup that he’s running. The bike has some wear and tear, along with plenty of spray paint, but overall it looks to be a sturdy unit. One item in particular that stood out are the prototype cranks that Merritt are working on. Based off the photo, which you can find below, it looks to be a beefier 22mm crank that has square arms with rounded edges which is ideal for grinding. Not too much info on the cranks, but with Interbike about a month away and October being a popular month for brands to release new products, we would imagine more info on these isn’t too far out. Merritt BMX – Day Trips #2: Heat Wave

Merritt coming through with another round of Day Trips clips for your viewing pleasure. This time they loaded up a few of their flow guys for some skatepark and street action despite it being super hot. Not to take away from the other guys in the video, but definitely keep and eye on Casey Starling. After our trip out to New York, we quickly realized this kid is a serious savage. This is loaded up with some real solid riding from start to finish, so take a peek!
