The guys over at FBM hit us with a link to Mike Hinkens‘ latest BMX video that he has been busy working on over the course of the past few months. If you have been riding BMX for more than a few days, there’s a good chance you have had your wheel knocked out of true. Whether it be side to side or a hop which is up and down, it happens. BMX is aggressive and it can put some serious abuse on those 20″ wheels of yours. When that happens you’re usually left with only a few options; take it to a shop and have a trained professional do it (recommended), buy or borrow a truing stand and fix it yourself (which we only recommend if you know what you’re doing) or try and eye ball it, which can work in some cases. Today, our friend and FBM and Madera team rider, Mike Hinkens posted a photo on Facebook giving us a look at a a method he uses to true his wheels that is quite a bit more cost effective than buying an actual truing stand. We we’re pretty stoked on the idea, so we decided to give it a go to see if it works and figured it would be cool to show you how to get it done yourself if you’re in a pinch!
The Madera team recently spent some time visiting shops and skateparks down in Florida. During the trip they made a stop at the Riverwalk Skatepark for a session with some of the locals. Here’s a BMX video loaded with highlights from the night featuring Erik Elstran, Mike Hinkens, Tom Villarreal, Dan Kruk, Dylan McCauley and Profile Racing’s Grant Castelluzzo along with some clips from the locals Chris Schuster, Frank Clark, Tyler Jenkins, Ryan Torrance and Tim Kellum who stopped out for the session!

We’re not quite sure what the DMV has to do with this BMX video, but we can tell you that it’s loaded with goodness from Russell Wadlin, Dylan McCauley, Mike Hinkens and Carl Espy which is good enough for us! Hit play and watch this short but sweet edit from some of the spots they cruised over the course of a weekend.

None were harmed in the making of this video, but a few were consulted. The result of that consultation was this mixtape of Russell Wadlin and Dylan McCauley along with guest appearances by Mike Hinkens and Carl Espy. Though we were unable to film any aquatic shots, we spent one week riding land in Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia.

When you live in the Midwest you sometimes have to get creative on where you ride to pass the cold months. FBM dropped this new edit from a solo session Mike Hinkens got in, in an underground parking ramp in Milwaukee! Looks like a fun jib spot to us!
