FBM CLOSING ITS DOORS AFTER 18 YEARS

January 15, 2020

FBM BMX Closing Its Doors

It’s a new year, and we’ve seen some shake ups with sponsorships, but here’s some news we weren’t expecting to be talking about this morning. Steve Crandall has just announced that FBM will be closing its doors after 18 years of riding, manufacturing BMX bikes in the U.S.A and plenty of partying. This news is definitely a bummer since it’s one of those brands you just feel good about. They put in a lot of work to put out a good vibe and make BMX look fun. Unfortunately it wasn’t enough to keep the sales going and the lights on. It’s a bummer to hear this news, for sure. Check out the official word from Steve down below…

“FBM started out as a crew.

Just some friends stoked on bikes. Through our curiosity and bike riding fueled smiles, we ended up as a full fledged bike company.

Unfortunately, we have closed the machine shop and FBM will no longer manufacture bikes.

This has been an unbelievably tough decision and we explored multiple options to maintain business as usual but we simply aren’t able to keep moving forward under existing model. That being said, we can’t thank everyone enough for being a part of FBM and helping us get this far in the world. The FBM Machine Shop opened in 2001 and built some of the best parts in BMX for 18 amazing years. You helped us build fun and share the message of community, positivity and DIY good times and we appreciate the support more than I even know how to express.

And since we started as a a crew, some day we will finish as a crew.

At it’s core FBM is built around friendship, and the spirit of FBM will live on forever, in our hearts, as a lifestyle and as an idea.

The heart of FBM is the people and that will never change. But FBM isn’t just for the people, it IS the people.

What we’ve all done collectively has been pretty powerful and inspiring.

The Road Goes on forever and the party never ends… (We jam econo!)

With the utmost gratitude.” – Steve Crandall

After re-reading the statement a few times, it sounds like FBM might still exist on another level, just not through manufacturing bikes. Maybe they’re going back to where it got its start just making t-shirts? We’ll keep you posted once we hear more.

What’s your favorite FBM memory? Let us know in the comments down below!

Ghetto Ramps In Dirty Richmond

November 1, 2019

The final round of the 2019 FBM DIY World Championships went down at Powers Bike Shop in Richmond, and it was a wild one. Powers Bike Shop put together this edit from the weekend’s festivities from the jam on the ramps in the back of the shop to street sessions and the life music that went down at the after party. This looks like it was a damn good time, so hit play and take all 17 minutes of footage in!

“THE DIG X FBM D.I.Y WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP WENT OFF LAST WEEKEND AT THE SHOP!! Thank you to everyone that put time in working on the ramps, driving in from out of town, and to those who helped promote the event. It was amazing! We love you!!

In The Cut – Maiden America Tour 2019

October 31, 2019

The annual Maiden America Tour went down a little while back, and the FBM, Profile Racing, QBP and ODI Grips guys loaded up for a trip to Colorado to visit shops, check out parks and trails and more. Here’s a raw cut showing what the guys got into on and off their bikes all along the way! There were a few bumps and bruises along the way, but overall looks like it was a good time to us!

“What started out as the 6th Annual Maiden America tour with QBP, Profile racing, FBM and now ODI, took a radical turn when the van banter started to get strange. Initially a trip celebrating brands that build BMX products in the United States, and supporting local bike shops by visiting, sharing some riding time and pizzas, Maiden America, as a result of the real-time mind-bending interactive diatribe lingo derivative inside joke phenom between Gary Ginch and Eric Holladay, was now dubbed the “Horniest trip in BMX’

Held captive by their insane tail feather wordplay development were Jay Schlie, Matt Coplon, Vic Bettencourt, myself, The Leeper Bros. Seamus McKeon, Declan Murray and our driver – Stew Johnson who was being threatened with assault and mummification.
Amidst visiting Local Colorado shops like Lawson Cycles, the ever-present PUSHER BMX, the crew rolled along the highest of High Altitudes Colorado Had to offer, The Sunshine State, and the Windy City- with their catchy state slogan- Don’t mess with Denver, was no match for the MAIDEN CREW! – Steve Crandall

FBM – Session Under A Bridge

October 15, 2019

FBM uploaded this laid back edit from a session some of the crew got in under a bridge in Denver recently. This bank to wall setup was enough to get just about two minutes of riding footage, so hit play and take it all in!

“A Quick fix under the bridge in downtown Denver with the FBM Crew – Matt Coplon, Eric Holldaday, Dillon Leeper, Declan Murray, Jay Schlie, Shane Leeper and Seamus Mckeon

From a recent Maiden America Tour…” – FBM

FBM – Joe Embrey Gypsy Raw Edit

September 17, 2019

FBM coming through with an awesome new Joe Embrey edit for you to enjoy. This raw cut is edited great with plenty of dialed riding from his local park and trails all jammed into one minute. We really enjoyed this BMX video, so make sure you check it out. You won’t be disappointed in when Joe’s throwing down.

September 5, 2019
