Insight: GoPro Hero 3 + & The GoPro App

Technology is a funny thing. It’s literally to the point where you find something new on a daily basis that you didn’t even know existed, but once you have it you cannot imagine living with out it. Cameras are something that are constantly evolving whether it be better quality images being produced, more functionality or a more compact design. In the past 15 years or so, I’ve been toying around with video cameras, filming my friends and I screwing around on our bikes. I’ve gone from Hi-8 tapes and Mini DV’s to tiny memory cards that can hold more footage in high-definintion than 3 tapes combined. It’s pretty amazing constantly seeing and be able to give the new technology a go with BMX being my excuse to use it. The other day my mind was blown thanks to GoPro and their new Hero 3+ camera and iPhone app. Let’s take a look at this…

Cult – Clubhouse Jam Flyer

What are you doing Saturday? If you are in the Santa Ana, California area on May 10th, you should swing through the Cult Clubhouse for 20% off everything and a session that’s bound to be a good time!
Profile Racing – Matt Coplon – The Switch Is Down
Oh hell yeah! You don’t even know how stoked I was to wake up to an email from Matt Coplon with his new Profile Racing edit inside! Anyone who has met Matt knows that he’s one of the hardest working guys in BMX and hands down one of the nicest guys out there. What’s even better? He absolutely crushes it on a bike too! Some how between his role as team manager, handling sales, bouncing around on trips with the team and hitting events, he was able to stack all these clips for this new edit! Take a look because it’s one you don’t want to skip!
“It’s been 13 years that I’ve had the honor of being TM for Profile’s freestyle team.
Over the past four months, between attending weekend events.
In between getting behind the lens to shoot pics, to film our riders.
In the down time after I’ve handled the things that make my job incredibly enjoyable, I set up the tri-pod or used my camera bag as prop (for the most part), and captured some jibs.
Some while on the road with the crew, others after work or on our coveted sundays of all day sessioning in Tampa.
Nothing ground breaking…just having fun pedaling.
Enjoy, and thanks for supporting Profile Racing over the years.
Subsequent filming by Grant Castelluzzo, Steve Caro, David Gibson, Kent Pearson, Scott Ehlert and Zachery Rogers.
Song: “Stepping softly into” by “Universal Order of Armageddon.”
I actually planned on using this song for a part 13 years ago, thought it appropriate. Finally.”
Quicky: Albert Mercado

What can I say about Albert that you probably don’t know already? I don’t really know, but I do know that he’s one of the nicest guys you will ever meet and he’s always producing something amazing with his riding. At the start of the year he got the VERY WELL DESERVED bump up to the Kink and Shadow Conspiracy Pro teams after putting in years of hard work that earned him the spots! We figured with Albert joining the pro ranks and coming off a thumb injury that it would be a good time to catch up and find out what’s new with one of our favorite San Dieagons! Check it!
Name: Albert Mercado
Shadow Conspiracy – Keep It Local: The Wheel Mill

The Shadow Conspiracy just dropped the flyer for the next stop of their Keep It Local tour! Looks like they’re going to The Wheel Mill May 23rd! If you are in the Pittsburgh area, I highly advise you come out for this!
“The Shadow crew is headed to the North East! Come by The Wheel Mill Bike Park Friday, May 23rd at 6pm to meet, eat, ride, and listen to music with Seth Kimbrough, Lahsaan Kobza, Albert Mercado, and Mark Burnett. Keep it Local!”
The Daily Grind – Tony Cherry Spring Video
Can’t ever go wrong with a new one from Tony Cherry! Check him out putting that freecoaster and all 4 pegs to proper use on some spots around Dayton, Ohio for The Daily Grind!
