Here’s a fresh one featuring young gun Turner Phaup putting in work street spots out East for Cult. We weren’t super familiar with Turner, but it’s easy to see why Cult picked him up. If you’re a fan of jibby riding, this is definitely for you.

Take a look at Chad Powers’ new Standard setup!

It’s always interesting to see a Bike Check where the rider isn’t directly sponsored by brands and can pick the frame and parts that they are really into. It’s even more interesting when it’s a guy like Chad Powers who owns Powers Bike Shop and deals with pretty much all the brands and sees pretty much every part available. It was time for Chad to build up a new setup, and he put together a Standard loaded with parts from a number of other brands that he is into. Powers BMX Shop Tour

What’s better than walking around a BMX shop looking at all the bikes, frames and parts?

There’s something awesome about walking into a fully stocked BMX shop. During the Rumble In Richmond, Brant Moore stopped into the Powers BMX Shop to take a tour with the owner, Chad Powers. The Powers BMX Shop is fully stocked with complete bikes, frames and parts galore, so there’s A LOT to see. Hit play to learn a little bit about the shop, along with a look at the showroom to the warehouse space! This place is awesome.

“Powers BMX Shop is a BMX only bike shop in Richmond Virginia. Chad Powers first got a business license to operate Powers BMX in 2009 and has been running it ever since. In addition to being a bike shop, there is a complete BMX museum with incredible history, there are also outdoor and indoor ramp setups, as well as a stage in the warehouse for punk shows. Powers BMX Shop is also a BMX mail order where anyone can order parts to be shipped from this location. Chad was nice enough to give me a tour of the shop, ramps, and warehouse so check it out! Chad Powers is an amazing person for not only BMX in Richmond, but also BMX as a whole. Stay tuned for the BMX Museum tour video coming soon!

Profile Racing x Powers BMX – Power Hour

Wouldn’t this be a Powers Hour? This past summer the Profile Racing team rolled through Powers BMX in Richmond for a day of hanging out and riding on the backyard ramps! It’s crazy to think this is 20 years old! Alright, kids. Here’s one from back before Youtube and when the internet wasn’t quite as easy to use, and making videos were still a real process! Between filming, capturing the footage to a computer and editing on the computer that definitely didn’t have enough power, riders would make sponsor tapes and send them in the mail (not email) to brands in hopes of them getting noticed. Here’s an example that Powers Bike Shop uploaded giving us a look at Latane Coghill‘s sponsor tape from around 2001 / 2002! This one is packed with dialed riding and it’s easy to see just why he was getting noticed! What’s awesome is that Latane is still out crushing it in 2021 and is better than ever, and we’re sure the videos he’s in a hell of a lot easier to make, haha. Check it!
