Red Bull – Dirt Conquerers In Guadalajara – Round 2

February 28, 2014

59188179

It looks like Red Bull is headed back to Guadalajara, Mexico for another round of the Dirt Conquerers! Check out the full press release below for details! If it goes anything like last years, this should be WILD!

“24 of the best BMX riders in the world will make it to Guadalajara, Mexico for the second edition of the Red Bull Dirt Conquers. With 15.000 fans watching the first event live at the city’s Metropolitan Park in 2013, the unique BMX competition with a mix of Park, Dirt and Bowl riding, will be back for more on 13 April 2014.

Red Bull Dirt Conquers is the brainchild of Guadalajara BMX local Alex Vazquez who is already looking forward to the big day: “The concept of mixing all BMX disciplines on a one-of-a-kind dirt bowl park attracted 15.000 people to the Metropolitana park last year with an extra 5000 waiting outside. It was insane.” said Vazquez also known as Mutante in the BMX world. He continues: “For the upcoming edition we want to have at least the same capacity.”

The Dirt Conquers BMX spot stayed around at the park after the event for the riders to enjoy. With so many riders wanting to participate in this year’s event, Mutante had to come up with a way to invite the 24 riders.“From the 24 riders we invite 20 of the best pro riders who can ride a set-up like this. 4 riders will receive an invite through the International Revolcon contest a week prior to the Red Bull Dirt Conquers event where we honour the 2 best Mexican riders and 2 best International BMX-ers with an invite.” said Alex. Confirmed riders for 2014 are a.o. Bas Keep, AJ Anaya, Sergio Layos, Maxime Charveron, Corey Bohan, Leandro Moreira, Tyler Fernengel and Rob Darden.

Not on the list last year, but planned to attend in 2014, Daniel Dhers followed the action online: “I think nothing had to be said once I saw the video of the course and the riding! Everybody’s answers were always the same: Amazing!” The multiple X-Games Park champion is a fan of Mexico and believes he can do well:“The locals are amazing and the vibe there has that warm fuzzy feeling! I rode quite a lot of dirt last year so I think this could be a cool event to ride since I want to do a little bit of both.”

Next to Daniel Dhers also last year’s winner Ryan Nyquist and Ben Wallace are planned to be riding the course built by the Dave King Dirtsculpt crew. Dave has some new ideas he wants to implement in the area to make things even better: “We are going to just add to last years course. It’s one of the first times that the course got to stay. The cool thing is all that work gets to be enjoyed over and over again. So we get to change the some stuff to make it better and add some new crazy features!” said the man in charge for the build. When asked to describe the 2014 set up Dave said: “It will be full speed, super fun ,and it’s all about the flow!”

Canadian Drew Bezanson recently won two big events in Europe and missed out on Red Bull Dirt Conquers in 2013 because of prior commitments but that won’t happen again this time: “I will definitely be at Red Bull Dirt Conquers in 2014. After seeing how much fun everyone had in 2013 it can’t be missed again. I never heard one negative thing about the whole event. Come on, who doesn’t want to ride a full skatepark built out of dirt. It’s what you dream of as a kid and made for your finger bikes playing in the sand box. I definitely love riding dirt and I definitely love riding park so there is no way fun isn’t going to be had.”

Red Bull Dirt Conquers will take place at Guadalajara’s Metropolitan Park on April 13, 2014.”

Red Bull – Bruno Hoffmann – White City

February 27, 2014

Here it is! Bruno Hoffmann‘s new Red Bull BMX video of him putting a hurting on spots all over Tel Aviv, Israel! Amazing riding, spots and film work! This is a MUST SEE for sure!

“It was very much a case of unfinished business for Bruno Hoffmann when he returned to Tel Aviv at the end of 2013 to shoot his White City edit with filmmaker Rich Forne. A previous trip to the Israeli city to shoot a clip for Federal Bikes had to be curtailed for security reasons.

Bruno and Rich were determined to return and shoot a full edit despite security concerns still being an issue in this part of the world.

As on his previous visit to Tel Aviv, Bruno found there was no shortage of places to ride, particularly in the White City area.”

Mike “Hucker” Clark Gets Roasted

February 21, 2014

It always blows my mind how long footage takes to surface from film production companies that aren’t directly involved in BMX. Skuff TV dropped this video of Mike “Hucker” Clark and a ton of others getting down at Gorge Road for Red Bull Roast It about a year ago. Better late than never, right?

“Turn up the heat, we?ve got all the action coming your way from the Red Bull Roast It BMX dirt ride from the legendary Gorge Road Jump park in NZ.
Forty five of the worlds best riders all went off on the schmick course looking to take out the events top honours.
Best rider went to Mike ?Hucker? Clark, Best trick was a tie between George Bolter and Brandon Loupos with Jed Mildon taking out Best line.

To say that Brian Kachinsky has travelled would be an understatement. I’m not sure, but last time I checked you and I combined haven’t collected over 500,000 miles on a single airline combined like Brian has. Head over to the Red Bull website to check out a Q&A Justin Kosman did with Brian talking about his love of traveling and the flying machines that get him from place to place. Who else wishes they had this life? I sure as shit do!

Red Bull – Bruno Hoffmann in Tel Aviv, Israel Teaser

February 18, 2014

It looks like Red Bull is on the verge of releasing a new Bruno Hoffmann video from his recent trip to Tel Aviv, Israel with filmmaker, Richard Forne! Take a peek at this quick teaser and then prepare yourself for a banger of a video February 27th!

“When Bruno Hoffmann went to Israel in 2012 he couldn’t travel outside Tel Aviv because of the poitical conditions, but the beautiful weather, good food and endless spots brought the German back in late 2013 to film a new video with his favourite filmer Richard Forne. The trailer shows a few street spots that they found in the white city and its surrounding suburbs.

The Gaza Strip isn’t the safest place on the planet to go street riding but Bruno avoided the armed security guards and hit up as many street spots as possible on this trip. Bruno: “I never really felt scared and I wasn’t concerned. Having Rich, who lives there quite a lot, with me, was really helping.”

The final product will be released on February 27th. With Rich Forne’s filming and editing combined with the skilled and technical riding of Bruno Hoffmann it’s going to be one that you don’t want to miss.“

Red Bull – Art and Passion in Motion: Building BMX Dirt Jumps

February 7, 2014

Now this is what I’m talking about! Check out this video Red Bull dropped giving you some insight into the PMP trails down in New Zealand! Hard work gives amazing results!

“New Zealand BMX riders show that skill and creativity goes into both building and riding dirt jumps.
Dirt jumps are the foundation of BMX riding. It’s where it all began, with kids sculpting crude take-offs just to get a taste of almighty airtime. That tradition has carried on, only now riders are digging deep in the woods and creating intricate and beautiful trails on a mammoth scale.

As you can see in the video above, it doesn’t matter if it’s in BMX hotspots in the U.S. like Pennsylvania or Austin, Texas, or if it’s halfway across the world in New Zealand — the passion for dirt riding is strong everywhere.

Countless hours go into the creation of trail spots; it’s hard work, often under the constant threat of someone taking notice and deciding they’re a nuisance, only deserving to be plowed. The payoff is grand, however; the feeling of floating through the jumps you’ve built is unmatched.

The trails can also evolve as your skills evolve, providing a home for you and your friends to share in the good times, all while motivating you to push for more.

Here’s to spots like the PMP trails above; may they live on and inspire new generations of builders and riders. Grab a shovel and make it happen!”

February 4, 2014

Red Bull – Ruben’s Waves Video

January 29, 2014

Here’s one I’ve been waiting for! Check out Ruben Alcantara, Matt Roe and Sergio Layos all riding Ruben’s park he designed and built in Malaga, Spain in this video from Red Bull! This park looks AMAZING to ride and they absolutely kill it! Hit play!

“Ruben Alcantara, Sergio Layos and Matt Roe ride Ruben’s new skatepark for the first time.
The wraps are finally off Ruben Alcantara’s new skatepark in Malaga with the facility finally ready to ride.

Ruben invited fellow Spaniard Sergio Layos and Fly Bikes teammate Matt Roe down to southern Spain to help him ride and test the bowl.

Will Evans was on hand to film Ruben, Sergio and Matt as they sessioned the park for the very first time.“
