Red Bull Dreamline Is Back!

April 29, 2013

P-20120217-96171_News_600x

We’ve been hearing rumors that Dreamline was coming back for a couple of months now, and it sounds like they’ve finally set the date and location. Check out the official press release below letting you all know where things are going off this year! All I know is I need to make it to this since the first one was hands down one of the best events I’ve ever been to! Get stoked!

“THIS COURSE IS ON FIRE: RED BULL DREAMLINE BRINGS THE BEST OF BMX DIRT TO ANGEL FIRE, NEW MEXICO By the Riders, for the Riders Contest set in downhill resort

April 29, 2013– (Santa Monica, CA) – The once quiet, under-the-radar event of Red Bull Dreamline, originally held on private land in Wabasha, Minn. is rising again, this time in the resort area of Angel Fire, New Mexico, with a bigger course, bold athlete list and some of the most challenging jumps seen in any recent BMX history. On August 9-10th, 2013, the slopes of the mountain will be converted into a dream downhill BMX dirt course, with 1,500 feet of perfectly groomed hits made-to-order, descending down from nearly 10,000 feet of elevation.

The Red Bull Dreamline project was conceived by BMX pro Anthony Napolitan as way to showcase the best of what dirt riding can be. Given six weeks and complete freedom to develop and groom the course, builder Adam Aloise helped take contest riding to a new level. While some elements will be under wraps, they are promising a course that includes 12 hits with one of the largest shark fin features ever seen, and a jump that will send riders at least 35 feet in the air. Top names in the sport have already RSVP’d including Luke Parslow, Brian Foster, Dennis Enarson and Mike “Hucker” Clark.

The format of the contest has been developed to benefit the riders. On August 9th, 32 riders will compete in two heats of 16. The 16 athletes in the non-riding heat will judge their peers. The top four from each heat will be moving on to Saturday’s final and will be judged by a randomly drawn group of non-qualifying riders from Friday. There will be a two hour jam session for each heat.

While there is prize money up for grabs, the contest shines a light on what BMXers enjoy most about riding – the freedom of pushing the limits with their friends, on a course that has no rules or constraints. As Anthony Napolitan describes it, “Red Bull Dreamline is an event that BMX riders can show up to, ride, have a great time, progress, and feel completely comfortable without the pressures of a normal contest setting. This event was designed for the riders, by the riders and that’s why it going to be such a great success.”

The event will get a national spotlight as part of the Red Bull Signature Series, which will air on NBC on October 19th, 2013 at 5pm EST, brought to you in partnership with Casio G’zOne Commando, Dodge Dart, and GoPro . The show airs as part of the Red Bull Signature Series, the most progressive action sports property in the world, featuring some of Red Bull’s top events including the Vans US Open of Surfing, Joyride and Rampage. Red Bull – BMX Performance Camp 2013

April 24, 2013

Red Bull got a bunch of their top BMX riders together for a very special training session at Joyride 150. Trainers and Freestyle BMX seem like polar opposites, but in the end I think everyone learned something valuable in the whole process. It’s cool to know that my addiction to these drinks is helping to fund rad stuff like this.

Red Bull – 24 Hours in Queenstown with Mike “Hucker” Clark

April 17, 2013

Mike “Hucker” Clark has been able to lead one hell of a life the past few years thanks to BMX. This video Red Bull dropped gives you a look at just how good things have been in one day. If this doesn’t make you wish you were him, I don’t know what the hell you’re aspiring to be.

“In this clip we catch up with professional BMX rider and Red Bull Roast It 2013 Best Rider winner Mike “Hucker” Clark for a day of fun in Queenstown, New Zealand. Mike takes a spin in a helicopter, rides some downhill mountain bike trails, hits a few lines at Gorge Rd Jump Park and takes a dip in the chilly waters of Lake Hayes. All in a days work for Hucker!”

Red Bull – Anthony Perrin Welcome Edit

March 28, 2013

Now, I don’t speak French so I couldn’t tell you what Anthony Perrin is saying, but I do speak BMX and this clearly says it’s a MUST SEE! Check out Anthony cruising a ton of spots in a couple different cities around France welcoming him to the Red Bull team. So, so good.

Red Bull Framed Reactions Seeks New Boarders in Amsterdam

March 27, 2013

RBSky6DanielWedemeijer

Well, it looks like Red Bull is back at it again with another wild contest. This time they’re going to Amsterdam to try out a new course layout that’s bound to make for an interesting event. Check out what’s going on below.

“Riders face new challenges on 8 June at Westergasfabriek

Amsterdam, Netherlands. With more bicycles than inhabitants, Amsterdam breathes cycling. On June 8th, when the sun goes down, 16 world class BMX riders will be competing at the Red Bull Framed Reactions, an event that will have a changing park course, a first in BMX’s history. The Westergasfabriek will be the venue of the action where master ramp builder and designer Nate Wessel will present a course with moving elements.

Event sports director Andy Zeiss has high expectations: “The event will write history in BMX I’m sure. Created by mastermind Nate Wessel the course will offer some crazy and never been seen before features. All riders will need to re-think their normal riding and take it to the next level in Amsterdam.” He continues: “Supported by a Dutch crowd it can only be awesome, everyone knows that Holland is THE bicycle enthusiastic country out there!”

One of the top favourite riders expected to adapt to the rotating ramps and unique features well is Drew Bezanson. The Canadian not only has a big bag of tricks but is known for riding any terrain in an original way. The possibility to change the course to his liking during the competition will bring strategic plans in order to show the best riding.

Daniel Wedemeijer from Amsterdam is one of the riders making an appearance at the Red Bull Framed Reactions and hopes to make it to the final round that evening. “It feels very special to see an event of this size come to Amsterdam. To be able to compete that day is very unique and I’m looking forward to it,” the 23 year old said.

Who will adapt to the moving and changing obstacles best? On the evening of June 8th we will know.

Spectating is free.”
